This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.
-RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under
-a connection to the organization, 'Black Folks Camp Too'! Welcoming to all!!!!!
So much to see and do in the area!
I am so satisfied with my time at Pine the Sky. I was worried because of the unexpectedly heavy snowfall, but the consideration of the host Joan was a great comfort.
I had the most incredible stay at this cabin with my friends! Everything was done so tastefully and beautifully, it all came together perfectly! You can tell that Joan genuinely put a lot of thought and care into every detail. She’s not only kind and amazing, but her hospitality really stands out. Plus her dogs were really cute and friendly.
The land itself is absolutely stunning, offering a bit of everything you could want in a getaway. Plus, the cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly need, making it so convenient and stress-free. It truly exceeded all our expectations. Can’t wait to go back.
Joans land was the perfect place for a lovely winter getaway, New Year’s Eve to be exact. She was such a lovely host and super accommodating, the place was clean. The area was full of adventure. I had the best time ever… I can’t wait to come back again :-)
We had the best time at Joan's this holiday break! Our dog loved the property and his fur buds. Joan was kind, accommodating and overall lovely. We'll definitely be back.
Great stay! The bunkie was nice and toasty in the winter. The fire pit was right next to our bunkie which was great and Joan was an excellent host! We will definitely come back again. We borrowed her snowshoes and and took some walks around the property. If you're coming with a kid in the winter, bring your own sled it comes in handy!
Joan's land was very peaceful, quiet and wonderful. She was very accommodating to our requests and we felt comfortable. Joan's two big dogs were very friendly and spent a lot of time with us during our stay. The cabin was just right to keep out the cold and our family made another memory and we hope to visit again. (My two daughters love it)
