My property is a farm in rehabilitation, always making improvements for my horses, garden and of course the campsites to share with you. The main farm area ascends into the hills and forest where the campsites are hosted in a clearing in the meadow. It is a pretty hike up the hill which makes it a private area, the only sounds are the atv and boats in the distance.
You have the opportunity to book time with the horses, and ask about our Onsen spa experience. Here, you have an amazing view of the Madawaska valley, as you camp in the meadow on the first (somewhat) level part of the forest. It is a 7 minute hike up the hill from where you park, so prepare accordingly.
One question that I'm frequently asked is if people can bring two tents. Yes, you absolutely can. However, there is only enough flat area for one tent for each flat area (site). This means that you need to book one site per tent. If you are a large group with three or more tents, send me a note, and I'll be happy to work something out for you. The entire hillside is a pine and hardwood forest with abundant wildlife displaying the tranquility of the valley. You are literally in a meadow in the forest, so your site is private and secluded. The only sound is an occasional ATV on the nearby trail.
There is an outdoor showers an outhouse and a composting toilet. There are two fire pits and outdoor kitchenat the bottom of the hill, and for a few extra dollar, we will provide breakfast as well.
If you like strolling through the forest, bird and butterfly watchin, and quiet serenity this is a great place for you.
There are plenty of paddling options, white water, rivers, lakes, hiking, caves and artist studio tours, as well as several local beaches, bridge jumping (amazing at sunset) great Saturday morning farmers market, a fun local waterside bar, and pizza place, restaurant and well stocked convenience store with LCBO.
We are in a very quiet and secluded area, but have everything you need very close by, including 40 minutes from the East Gate of Algonquin Park.
You can also have a work/stay option if you would like to contribute to developing the property and amenities (animal fencing, garden, developing campsites)
There is a treatment studio/zen den for acupuncture and Japanese bodywork, and mineral water hottub, rock bathing detox, and meditation.
