Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
It’s a beautiful location but it’s not well maintained. There was trash and broken glass and beer cans at 2 of the campsites that I considered and I cleaned up both and picked one. The port a potty was so dirty it was unusable. The plastic picnic tables were damaged or covered in mud. The firewood was uncovered so was damp and hard to light. I don’t expect much in terms of rustic camping but this didn’t even meet that bar.

Kermit’s Group camping
Very calm and reserved
Awesome place, especially Kermit’s group camping. Very calm and reserved, best part is no mobile reception. Lot ls of trees and shades, water and low amp electricity is available. Only recommendation is if we have a decent toilet, it would have been awesome. But proper camping experience.

Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
Driveway Access
It was challenging to get our vehicle back up and out of the driveway. I'm an experienced off-road recreational driver. I managed to get the car up and out, but my husband couldn't. I would recommend those who camp here have all wheel drive or four-wheel drive and have a higher clearance vehicle. There was rain forecasted, so we didn't drive back down in after it got wet because I didn't think we'd get the car back out.
The other issue was the noise. Others coming and going up and down the same driveway into the night. We had already gone to sleep and got woke up a few times.

Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
Basic and Challenging
It served our basic needs, that is, to pitch a tent and get some sleep. We took a dip in the pond as a way of rinsing the sweat off our bodies after a long day biking.
However, If you are cycling, you have to climb a hill that is extremely steep. The next morning we had to push our bikes about a third of a mile before we could ride them due to the hill climb to get our of the hollow where we pitched our tents.
It would be nice to have had a "Rustic Shower" to refresh instead of having to swim in the pond. Oh, one more thing, someone started mowing at it was getting dark and did so for about 45 minutes. The timing was not appreciated.

Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
Turkey Hollow was a great place to camp. The outdoor shower was a definite plus. The meadow has lots of flat spots and beautiful views. The ride down to the camp area was a challenge but a great time to enjoy walking. The porta potty was clean and convenient to all the camping sites.
