Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Experience this cozy and unique tiny house perched atop of Mad River Mountain Ski Resort. The tiny house is located in the beautiful Mountain Top RV Campground, and can be enjoyed year round. It provides a fun and peaceful getaway while still being 15 minutes away from downtown Bellefontaine. The tiny house is hooked up in an RV campsite with electric, septic and water. It does have distance from other campers, with woods behind the tiny house. You can enjoy AC in the summer and heat in the winter. Owner of Rusty Fig Redesign, interior designer Janet and her two sons purchased the Tiny House and rehabbed it in a Swedish modern style, with lots of natural elements, and cozy features. Come stay at our family labor of love! The Rusty Fig Tiny House is your tiny getaway, with everything you need to be at home. There is a queen size bed in the loft only accessible by ladder. The sofa does fold out as an additional bed (which can fit one adult or 2 small children). The tiny house has a flushable toilet and working shower (hot water lasts about 5 continuous minutes and regenerates about every 30 minutes.) Connect to nature and sit outside by the fire pit, though you must supply your own firewood. All the fixings for smores are provided for 2 guests on the first night, plus complimentary hot beverages throughout your stay. Enjoy your dinner outside or play a game on the picnic table provided. We now have Wi-Fi! In winter, skiing is a short walk (~250 feet). Ski in, ski out for great convenience! Our Tiny House is: 1 min from Mad River Mountain Ski Resort 15 minutes away from Bellefontaine, OH (lots of shops, restaurant and things to do!) 18 minutes away from the Ohio Caverns 30 minutes away from Indian Lake State Park - Dog Park, Boating, Fishing, HikingSite 87 is located near the entrance of the Mountain Top RV campground. You enter the security gate, turn right and our black tiny house with the blush door is located on a quiet spot with a backdrop of beautiful trees. It is an RV park, but there is lots of space between the other sites, and ours. We are hooked up to electric, septic and plumbing, so you will have all the creature comforts, but in a campground setting. We have a flush toilet, and you can take a hot shower for about 5 minutes. It does replenish hot water in about 30 minutes. The bathroom also has a full size sink, and the bathroom is stocked with soap, shampoo/conditioner, towels and face cloths. We have a split duct heating and cooling system, or you can open the windows to enjoy a fresh breeze Inside there is also a living area, with a fold out sofa bed for one adult, or 2 small children who like each other! There is a stocked kitchen that has everything you could need to cook, plus an electric hotplate, small fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee pot and electric kettle. Coffee, tea, sweeter and creamer are provided for your entire stay. The bedroom is located in the loft area. You access the loft by climbing the ladder. The loft has a comfortable queen sized mattress, soft sheets, pillows and a dreamy comforter and throw blanket. The blinds are light blocking. You can enjoy the heat or AC, or open the windows up there for a gentle cross breeze. There is a plug on each side to recharge your phone if needed. Outside there is picnic table where you can eat or play one of the games provided. An artist created beautiful coloring pages for guests to color if you want to try your hand at artistry, or just color to relax. There is also a firepit area with a bench and 2 chairs. A smores kit for 2 is provided for the first night. There is a double hammock hung behind the tiny house. Please pick up your own firewood on the way, as it is not provided. You could find some kindling in the woods nearby on the ground. The campground is located on top of Mad River Mountain Ski Resort. In the winter it is steps from the ski lift, and ski in/ski out. In the warmer months the campground is in a beautiful setting, with mature trees and woods surrounding it. It is 10 minutes from the town of Bellefontaine
