Nestled under the shade bequeathed by a tall canopy of deciduous trees and alongside a gentle flowing brook, lies a forest opening perfect for immersing oneself in nature. From our parking area, our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) by way of a well maintained footpath which leads you alongside a farm pasture, to a wooded trail that empties on to a level forest understory ideal for your hammock or tent. Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a table, your own private outhouse, and unlimited sights and sounds of nature. Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to one of our best stargazing hilltops, to the shallow creek which runs alongside the campsite, through shaded forests and ridgetop views. Our pond, a short 7 minute hike, offers fishing, swimming or simply relaxing on the dock. For longer hikes, all trails connect to our larger network of maintained trails winding over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open (mowed) pasture trails offering the hiker farm-life views across our 80 acres. To make your packing lighter and your stay more comfortable, we offer the following "extra items" at an additional cost. Please order your "extra items" at the time of booking. *Additional fees may apply for items not ordered in advance of stay.* - Firewood bundles (unlimited) - Garbage disposal (limit 2 bags per booking) - Charged battery pack with plug and USB receptables - *Stringed twinkle lights - we do the hanging before you arrive * must be ordered with our charged battery pack or bring own power source. All purchased "extras" will be waiting at your campsite when you arrive. Please see the "extras" for more detailed information and pricing. My Spot Campsite is totally private and secluded. Campers will have approximately 3 acres of complete privacy with access to hiking our farm trails and our family pond for fishing, swimming or simply relaxing and enjoying the views and sounds of nature. Visitors will often get a glimpse of our homestead life: we raise sheep and chickens with the help of our working dogs. Our farm is surrounded by 3500 acres of privately owned forest in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and is a short 30 minute drive from Athens to the East and Jackson to the West. We have very little through traffic; it’s not unusual to only see one vehicle a day (our mail delivery). Overall our area is rural and chocked full of natural wonder: sandstone rock formations, an abundance of wildlife to include rare species such as the Whip-poor-will, and the amazing barred Owl, both of which campers delight in hearing during their stay. My Spot campsite is so scenic, tranquil, and relaxing you may never want to leave camp until it's time to head home. However, if you want to use the campsite as your base, Lake Snowden, which is only a 15 minute drive, offers kayaking, canoeing, swimming and the very popular Paw-Paw Festival in September. The quaint riverfront village of Pomeroy is a 30 minute drive. Hocking Hills State Park is only a 45 minute drive.

Verdant experience
A beautiful secluded campsite, very quiet and peaceful. Farm animals and a small fishing pond, and trails in the woods, were great attractions for kids. Beth is the Best! She is very accommodating and helpful. Oh, BTW, you need to bring chairs.

My Spot Private Campsite
Private, quiet, relaxing
I planned this trip a few days before I left. I wanted to find a spot in the woods, secluded and private, but not a long hike back to the car, with an outhouse and possibly a pond to fish in. Luckily for me I found this listing. The property is beautiful and remote. The site is off of the road about a quarter mile, just far enough so you can’t see your car parked but easy walk to it. The small pond set among the working sheep farm had lots of bass. Didn’t catch anything huge, but caught a lot. The firewood provided for a reasonable fee was well cured, old growth hardwood. I almost felt guilty burning it. The forest surrounding the site had a very clean floor, not a lot of brush or young trees, and I spent a lot of time throwing disc golf discs between the trees. The owners were very communicative and friendly. Brian loaded all of my gear in and out of the site with short notice. Opted for the lights and power station, both worked great. I think I have found my go to weekend getaway spot. I like to camp very simply and comfortably. Throw up my hammock, bring a comfortable camp chair, cook dehydrated meals on my backpacking stove, drink a few beers and just relax and turn off. This spot was perfect for that. I can’t wait to come back.

3rd time and still the best
Beth is the best host that you will find with the perfect spot for you to getaway. This is our third time visiting her private campsite and it did not disappoint. If you like a secluded location surrounded by trees and enough space to see the stars also, peaceful and serene, a personal bathroom, and plenty of trails to enjoy the land, then this is the place for you. On top of that, Beth is an amazing hosts ready to make you comfortable any way possible. We have made a new friend in our ventures to share her land with her and will miss her greatly when we move at the end of the year. Hopefully, we can make it back for a fourth trip one day, I doubt we will find this total package of greatness anywhere else. Thank you so much.

This would be our second time staying at Beth’s property. Like before she was a very gracious host! We opted to rent the Jackery and the lights which were more than worth it. Thank you again!

Perfection
We couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. Beth was an amazing host and even helped us take our gear back to the camp site. If you are looking for a place to relax and recharge in your own private oasis, I recommend checking out this site! We will definitely be back next season!
