Enjoy our private paradise with over 800 feet of riverfront on 17 acres along the banks of the beautiful Ohio River. We have a great landing for fishing, swimming, or kayaking. The sunsets are fantastic and the night sky incredible! Behold the barges passing by on the river as you unwind and relax in the peacefulness of nature! This is a primitive camp with three sites available for you to consider. Some things to know: We will provide a key code close to your arrival time so you can enter the gate by the road. If you are coming by river, we will put a flag on our landing. You can drive your vehicle right down to the sites. The farm is flat and easily navigated as long as it is dry. There will be a 5 gallon cooler of potable water for you to use. More water is available if we are at the property. We have 2 outhouses located on either end of the property. Firewood is plentiful by the river. We have some wood under a black tarp by the pavilion fire pit available for an additional fee. We have one neighbor who can make some noise with ORVs especially on weekends. Activities in the area include: 4 nature preserves The Conservancy properties Adams Lake State Park Lynx Prairie Serpent Mound Cedar Falls Moondoggie Livery Shawnee State Park Shawnee State Forest with over 60,000 acres and 8.000 acres of wilderness. Primative Riverside camping
Here’s the final version with that adjustment: We had a great long weekend stay at Holly’s campsite from Thursday to Sunday. Holly was an excellent host with great communication leading up to our visit. She met us on arrival, helped us find a spot to park our smaller fifth wheel, and made sure we were settled in. The site was easy to navigate, and we fit with no problem. It was level and had good access to the river, which was beautiful. There were a couple of sandy spots along the riverbank that would have been perfect for swimming if the weather had been warmer. We wished we could have gotten the fifth wheel down to the lower area even closer to the river. We were fortunate to be the only reservation during our stay. If the cabin or pavilion had been occupied, it might have felt less private, but for us, it was peaceful. One thing we learned is that this location is dog-friendly, and our daughter is quite nervous around dogs. Holly was very understanding and kept her dogs on a leash, which made a big difference in allowing our daughter to relax. Holly also brought us water, and the portable fire pit worked great. We enjoyed watching the barges on the river and hearing the occasional train in the distance. The sky was clear, and without any light pollution, the stargazing was incredible. The only downside was the neighboring property. They were having a party with loud music and off-road vehicles. The revving engines went on all evening Friday and didn’t stop until afte

Rustic Riverview cabin
Paradise
This is such a beautiful place to curl up around a campfire! You can watch the boats and barges go by on the river and look up at a sky full of stars at night. Dave was great, he came to check on us once to be sure we got everything we needed and see what he could do to help. He let us know to contact him if we needed anything. Our dog was able to run free, feeling like she was protecting us from unseen wild animals! I mean you never know when a squirrel might come after us, right? We were in a campervan at the Rustic Cabin site, and it was great talking while sitting on the porch, I think we'll try the Pavillion spot next time!

Our new favorite!
It was love at first sight for each of us who stayed at the primitive camp for a long weekend. The view of the river is exceptional, unadulterated by lights or houses. The stars at night are almost hypnotic and we saw many shooters! We woke up to a beautiful fog on the river and enjoyed watching it burn off as the barges went by. The site is shady and cool in the morning and provides a beautiful view of sunset. Plenty of room for multiple dogs to run and swim. Holly and her husband are very kind and gracious hosts. The provided water was very convenient, and we enjoyed chatting about the prehistoric earthworks in the area and artifact hunting. Do not hesitate on this one, we can't wait to come back!

Private OH River Paradise Pavlion
Beautiful scenery
Loved tent camping on the Ohio river! It was a beautiful area, easy access to the river. The pavilion was nice for eating and hanging out and the outhouse was a nice bonus! Overall it was a nice experience being our first time camping with a child.

A Perfect Slice Of Paradise
We had the good fortune to be the only campers there and the misfortune to have a dreadful weather forecast. But we lucked out as it was clear when we got there and we had just a minimum of rain throughout the night. Holly was super responsive, directions were clear and easy to follow and we were so excited to arrive in our campervan after a long drive with our 10 month old puppy. We were presented with 5 gallons of water and a large tomato(🤣) by Hollys hubby, a lovely host who we enjoyed a nice chat with. The Ohio is so beautiful - there’s a path leading to the riverside. The only vestiges of the outside world was the occasional barge chugging along and distant melodic train whistles. We only stayed overnight, but it would be a lovely spot to stay much longer.

River access and stargazing!
Holly's oasis was close to edge of Appalachia preserve and Shawnee State park for an action packed weekend of hiking. We look forward to coming back and checking out some of the trails she reccomended! The site was clean and quiet. It was fun to stay so close to the ohio river! The stars are amazing. There were many spots to choose from for dispersed/primitive camping. There was an outhouse on site behind one of the cabins we were able to use. Holly was welcoming, she even set up the fire ring with dry wood for our arrival after a rainy day!
