With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, and plenty of wildlife. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1930's. My grandpa purchased this property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, "jeeping". Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. The firewood is excess cutoffs purchased from a local sawmill. Dreamy primitive glamping
The view from this site is absolutely beautiful and serene. Walking along the river to get to the tent was my favorite. The site itself is cozy and secluded but quite large. The whole Bass and Buck Adventure property is pretty and quiet. We brought a wagon to haul our stuff in and out and it proved quite useful for multiple trips unloading or with kids.

Forge Hill
Great little place!
We loved the Forge Hill site. It was relatively quiet, although you can still unfortunately hear traffic at night. Other campers were there, but everything is very nicely laid out so we mostly felt like we were pretty secluded. There was an incident with a tree coming down across the access road, but the owner was very quick to get it cleared out of the way. One caveat is that if you have children who are going to spend time in the water, make sure to put them in water shoes. There are a ton of large fresh water clams and it seems like the raccoons get after them and leave broken shells everywhere. We had a couple badly sliced feet. We will definitely be back. The stream was great for the kids to play and catch crayfish, and a constant supply of (free) firewood was 100% appreciated.

Deep Woods
Had an amazing time at Deep Woods! It was a pleasant hike in and a beautiful location right on the water. I felt truly secluded, which something I really valued about camping here. Will definitely come back!

The Deep Woods
We had a very pleasant experience camping on Rick's land. The Deep Woods site is perfect for those who pack light and find enjoyment in walking to their destination. The view of many different wildflowers and river made the walk to our site enjoyable. We utilized the pavilion by the lake for lunch and loved those small touches that Rick provided; paddle board, kayak, and a pedal boat for 2. I would stay again.
