With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, and plenty of wildlife. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1930's. My grandpa purchased this property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, "jeeping". Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. The firewood is excess cutoffs purchased from a local sawmill. Big Bend
Beautiful property. Amazing campsite. We had an amazing time. Rick was quick to answer any questions we had. If we are back in the area would absolutely camp here again.

Forge Hill
Thoroughly enjoyable experience!
We stayed 3 nights during Labor Day and absolutely loved camping at the Forge Hill site. It’s spacious, beautiful, and secluded enough to feel as if you’re the only ones there. Rick stopped in briefly to introduce himself, explained some of the property history, and checked if we needed anything. He’s an extremely nice gentleman! There’s wood provided a short distance away and the porta potty is close and exceptionally clean. The trails are gorgeous and easily walkable. The property is easy to find and there’s a convenient store less than 5 mins away for ice etc. We already miss it and will be back!

Really enjoyed my night here! Direct access to the river (which the dog loved) and a nice collection of firewood to use. Rick was a great host, he’s available for help but not hovering and the arrival process went smooth. I truly felt alone on this site, something that is important to me and hard to find. The “hike-in” experience was awesome. Had to cross a little section of the Grand River which added to the isolation aspect / overall experience. Will definitely be back to try out a different site!

Big Bend
Big Bend was the perfect campsite. Secluded enough to get away from society but still with amenities like easy to access firewood and outhouse. Hiking was wonderful with scenic trails along the water and benches at the perfect meditation spots. We loved it and hope to be back soon.

Cozy Creek
Camp site was great! It was very quiet and you felt secluded. If you are looking for a fancy "modern" campsite with lots of amenities then this isn't for you. This is a very primitive site which is what I like and why I thought it was great. Free firewood and plenty of it. Rick was very nice and greeted us at the site to be sure we had everything we needed and to let us know to get ahold of him if we needed anything during our stay.

Deep Woods
It was fun taking the trails in my Tacoma back to the site, the river crossings aren’t bad. He left dry wood for me and I had plenty for the night I was there. It is nice a secluded which is great.
