If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this privately owned, primitive campground is a great place for your tent! Nestled in Medford Mountain at about 1200 ft., each creek-side slip has a magnificent view of the 1532 ft. mountaintop. Whether surrounded by spring blossoms or fall foliage, animal and leaf lovers often see turkeys at dawn and deer at dusk. Foxes and bobcats have also been spotted on occasion. It is important to note that bear and coyote roam freely on the adjacent mountaintop, although are rarely seen or heard. Proper wilderness precautions must always be taken while camping. Aside from the flora and fauna, one of the biggest attractions is the star-filled sky. On a clear night, it is imperative to take a break from your private campfire to appreciate the Milky Way. You may also enjoy the meteor showers in August and other celestial events. Not to be outdone, the day sky does not disappoint. If a pop-up shower passes through, a double rainbow is often left in its wake. In the surrounding area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy during the day. In a half hour or less, you may go horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Public access to Lake Lure is less than 15 mi. away, but access to a lakeside road with amazing views is only a couple of minutes away. In addition, there is a little-known waterfall about 8 minutes up the street. If spending the day on site, be sure to walk the trail on the opposite side of the creek and hike up the hill for a different view. In addition, badminton, volleyball, ladder ball, cornhole, Yardzee, croquet, bocce, frisbees and footballs are available for free rental (refundable deposit required). Plus, children may enjoy gem mining in the creek (for an additional fee). Of course, everyone can play Slapsquatch on the grounds for free. *Disclaimer: Bigfoot activity has neither been confirmed nor denied.Bigfoot Brook campsite is a flat, grassy space on the banks of a shallow creek, nature's perfect lullaby. Guests will have plenty of room to park at the site, set up a few tents around a fire ring, and set up an activity such as cornhole. Host provides a small camping table, a water pot and a heating grate. On the five-acre property, there is a privacy tent with a camp toilet and camp shower. An industrial sink fed by well water may be used to wash dishes or draw water for the shower. Guests may use the field for outdoor games, hike the hill, sit by the creek with their toes in the water, or walk along the wooded trail looking for signs of the great, North American wood ape. *FYI the rules to Slapsquatch are similar to Punch Buggy/Slug Bug: if you see a 'Squatch you may slap your friends for it. Each Bigfoot is only in play once. (There are more than 25 slaps to be had.)

We loved our overnight stay at Regina’s Campsite!! We had our pup with us , and she made sure to put us at the site furthest from the house so our pup and hers wouldn’t bark at each other. Shower / bathroom are in the same little pop up tent. Shared between campsites. Tent we opted for was perfect for us and the pup. Area was really beautiful to explore. Overall, 10/10 experience and we will be back!

Great campsite with a view.
Regina's land is very beautiful and she is also a terrific hostess. The land is an open field just off of the road with 3 camp spots. There is plenty of space for all. She has a table with a firepit at all 3 of them and has a camp shower with camp toilet for use. There is also access to water. A cute stream runs to the side of the property and there is a cool walking trail honoring Bigfoot. Overall it was very pleasant and we enjoyed the time. The view of the moon at night was phenomenal.

Amazing star gazing and host!
I loved camping at Regina’s! It was very peaceful and the view of the mountains was amazing. I actually chose this spot from looking at a light pollution map, and it showed this being one of the best spots for star gazing. It did not disappoint; the stars and planets were amazing to look at. Regina is also an awesome host, leaving nothing to wonder or worry about. I think I saw a bigfoot in a blue convertible as well, but I didn’t have my glasses on, so wasn’t too sure. I’ll definitely be back 😀
