The Rocky Knoll sits on about two acres of wooded land on a knoll with a breathtaking view of the mountains. Bring your family, pet and your tent to enjoy this beautiful secluded campsite which is conveniently located to Hanging Rock State, Pilot Mountain State Park, Belews Lake and Winston-Salem. This land has been in the family for many, many years. We just love the solitude on the Rocky Knoll and wanted to share it's beauty with others who enjoy nature. The Rocky Knoll is a beautiful, secluded little haven to sit and enjoy a magnificent mountain view. Gather around with your family for a nice evening fire in the provided fire pit. Pitch a tent on our 12 x 12 tent mound and enjoy nights in the country. Or bring your RV with a maximum length of 22 ft. Two picnic tables are provided for your outdoor dining. We do not have electricity or running water at this time. But, we do offer what we call the “Poop Shed” as a primitive toilet. But if you prefer you may bring your own camp toilet, The Rocky Knoll is conveniently located 7 minutes away from Walnut Cove, 20 minutes away from Winston-Salem and about 25 minutes away from Hanging Rock, Pilot Mountain and Belews Lake. There is a Frisby Golf course 9 minutes away too. Pets are allowed but please keep on a leash and clean up after them.. We do not live on the property but we are about 5 minutes away in case you need anything.

STARS!!!!!
I’ve already said I can’t wait until we come back!!!! This is one of the best Hipcamps I’ve stayed at!!!! Right off a main road, (no need for a 4WD) but you feel like you’re on top of the world!!! Peaceful, gorgeous views. The STARS! Oh my, the stars!!!! It was a halfway point for a friend and me and our first time camping with a hot tent and stove. It was CHILLY!!!! We stayed warm in the tent and thank goodness for the ton of wood available with the honor system that was provided. We used 3 buckets of wood. At $3 a bucket, what a steal. We hung out in Mt. Airy, went to some wineries and breweries. Don’t so on this one. You won’t regret it. Take the gravel road to the left of the century if you’re looking at it. My gps put me across the street and it took me a second to figure out what I was doing. Easy peasy. Go, and enjoy!!!!

⭐️ Highly Recommend ⭐️
We absolutely loved our stay at Rocky Knoll! It was the perfect, convenient stop for us on our way back home to Florida. Despite easy access, the campsite still felt wonderfully remote and peaceful. The views were simply breathtaking, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful touches around the site that made it feel extra special. You can tell the hosts have poured a lot of love into this place! Highly recommend for anyone seeking a relaxing and memorable outdoor experience.

We loved the rocky knoll! Very well maintained site and great communication from the hosts. Beautiful view. We really appreciated the picnic tables and Adirondack chairs to enjoy by the awesome fire pit. You can’t beat this spot for the price!

The Rocky Knoll
The Rocky Knoll is a perfect camping location for a weekend getaway! It is well maintained, private, spacious, and conveniently located close to Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain. You can tell Lois and Mike take great care of the property by the nice decor and cleanliness of the grounds. The campsite was also fully loaded with plenty of firewood which was great to keep us warm every night. The view was beautiful and will be a perfect spot to see fall foliage towards the end of October/early November. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
