A small homestead on the bank of Abbotts Creek near where it feeds into High Rock Lake. Peace and solitude , but close to the amenities of town. Less than a five minute drive to the grocery store, and less than a fifteen minute drive to uptown Lexington. Public access for kayaks is less than half a mile away. And the view is unbelievable!
We have a corn hole board and bags now available for use, as well as a few other yard games. Please let us know if you are interested in using them.
The edible landscape is available for you to enjoy. A list of current available items is posted in our greenhouse, as well as baskets for picking and foraging.
The campsite offers a beautifully serene escape, with hosts Darrell and Natalie providing attentive and thoughtful service. The cabin and tent sites are well-equipped, featuring unique touches like solar lights and an outdoor shower, which are frequently highlighted by guests. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to interact with farm animals and explore the surrounding nature. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention the challenges of creek fishing and limited space in the cabin.
My stay was short, as I arrived after 6pm in the rain and left by 9am. Everything seemed fine. I would have enjoyed staying a bit longer in the morning to enjoy the many birds around my site. (I heard an owl just outside at night!)I also would have loved to have roamed the farm a bit to check out the animals and whatever else was there.
Magical Farm setting. My kids absolutely loved the cabin and all the farm animals. The owners are lovely humans. This was a memorable break from the suburbs. My kids fell in love with their cat named Garr.
We really enjoyed staying here, but I’m very grateful we brought along our tent because the cabin was infested with bugs which made it inhabitable. But everything else was perfect! We loved the outdoor shower and private access to the creek for launching our kayaks. There was a little more noise and light pollution than we cared for (could hear vehicles from highway 24/7) and of course the donkey and roosters but that was expected, and comical! The property is beautiful and it was a great weekend 🩷
Loved the little cabin. We were skeptical about the shower situation but it ended up being great. The view from the cabin was beautiful and we were close by a lot of pretty hikes.
