Our Spa is now available for booking! We are a constantly evolving location. Our goal is to provide a genuine secluded camping experience immersed in nature in a mountainous forest with privacy and well spaced out, secluded camp sites. We also have minimal light pollution, so our skies are beautiful for viewing the stars. We offer trails through natural wooded habitat with hidden gems of nature. Wildlife viewing throughout. There are feed locations to increase viewing opportunities. A creek on the property is lovely for walking. Centered between Charlotte and Asheville we are within your reach! We offer primitive tent camping, Glamping Tents and a Cabin. Glamping and cabin have a private Mountain View, fire pit area, Queen bed, Night Stand (built in phone charger), Desk area, interior and exterior lighting, heater and fan (powered by solar system). As a part of Starlight Hills Campground you have access to filtered drinking water, common overlook (w/ BBQ pits & picnic tables), trails, bathroom and showers. Welcome to bring all your furry family members ❤️. Please Note: 2 Wheel Dr. vehicles can access all of our sites. Gravel/ Dirt road up hill.

The spa rental is awesome!

MTG2 site in particular didn't have a great view but I would 100% recommend MTG3 and 4 had a nice view. MTG3 seemed to have the most space on the site also. MTG1 is great level site but literally side by side with the overlook shared with all the other campers. Bathrooms are a little bit of a walk down the hill from all of those sites but literally the cleanest I've ever seen at any campsite. Outdoor showers were nice, for me the water didn't get super war. But still better than not having a shower at all. Our host was very responsive and helpful and came out to help us in the middle of a downpour. Our yurt fit snuggly the 4 of us and we had our dogs in a tent we pitched outside. The fairylights between the trees were a nice touch. The campground has 2 short trails one of which takes you to a nice overlook. The spa rental is well worth it! Again everything was super clean! The tentsites seemed very nice also, not much of a view from any of them tho, plus they're fairly close to eachother. There is a road that you can kind of hear but it didn't bother us at all. The hurricane aftermath is still very much affecting a lot of fhe trails surrounding the area but the campground is in great condition. We would 100% go back again

Site 3 - Starlight Hills Campground

What a great spot!

Everything was as described. William met us shortly after our arrival to welcome us and tell us about the property. We also booked an hour in the spa area. It was amazing and worth every penny. My only comment is that I wish each spot had its own picnic table. There are 3 at the common area along with the grills and hammocks, which is nice, but would have been a nice bonus to have a picnic table at our spot. Can't wait to come back to this camping ground.

Bday Glamping Weekend!

The glamping at this location was so insanely beautiful! William was a wonderful and very kind host. He also loved on our dogs and available for any questions or issues (we had no issues!) I can’t wait to go back! The view was beautiful.

Site 6 - Starlight Hills Campground

Gazing at the stars

We loved this camping site. We were at site 6. Really close to the view point. A short walk to the showers. The showers were unexpectedly really nice and clean. The camp site is also not a long drive from Charlotte, which is convenient for a short weekend. The only thing to be aware of is that the toilet amenities are portable potty. Otherwise, no complains! I recommend 100%!

Site 6 - Starlight Hills Campground

Great spot to camp! The views are excellent, great common area to cook and eat and enjoy the views. Only complaint I have , is that there are not picnic tables at each site, so pack a folding table. Very accessible campsites, don’t need 4 wheel drive. Close to south mountain for hiking, and forest city and spindale for shopping/eating. This is my second time here and will definitely e back!
