This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability. Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards. If you are floating in from the French Broad River the recommended take out is located at 35.24007° N, -82.69972° W. See images in our photos for the posted Riverbend sign for where to take out.

Great spot for kayak camping
I stayed at this campground because I was kayak camping on the French Broad River and it is suggested on the French Broad Paddle Trail website. It's very convenient that you can just paddle right up to the take-out and the campsites are right there. And they are nice campsites too. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring and there is dry firewood for sale on site. The porta-john was clean. There is no potable drinking water but the host brought me two gallons of spring water, which was very kind. I like the way the sites are spread out with a buffer of trees and brush between them.

Beautiful site and a perfect location super close to town. It's a steep drop off to the river so worth some extra caution with little kids. We had a great time and can't wait to return.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
After a long day of unexpected events on the road, we felt incredibly lucky to stumble upon this campground at the last minute. The property is absolutely beautiful and very easy to access from the main road. While there was some highway noise due to a nearby road, it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Hosts were GREAT!!! The campground’s location by the river made for a peaceful and scenic stay. We truly enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and relaxing spot to camp.

Great hosts!
The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. On our way to the location, the GPS misled us, but the hosts kindly drove out to meet us and guided us back to the site. The neighboring site felt a bit close, but it was unoccupied during our stay, so it wasn’t an issue. All in all, it was a nice getaway.

Serene spot on the river
Site 25 was great, it's right next to the river's pull out site and an extremely short walk to the porta potty and firewood. The spot is equipped with a nice fire ring and picnic bench. This spot is great for van camping, a bit small for tent camping but still 100% doable. The back lots are so peaceful, and is surrounded by a huge open field, great for walking the dog. Highly recommend.

Not a great swimming spot.
The land is beautiful. I was searching for a swimming hole for kids and site 10 and the campground overall did not have what I imagined it would. We couldn't see the river from our campsite because of the trees and bushes. and we couldn't wade in the water at our campsite (due to the steep drop off) or in the river access spot (due to sinking in the mud and it being to shallow to swim with lots of branches in the water.
