Hut or Tent, your choice. We just added the tent platform and it is your choice as to tent platform or Hut. They are about a football field away from each other. Get away from it all on a secluded mature wooded hill twenty minutes from the Ococee River. You can feel how old the Appalachian mountains are here. Remote enough and private but no 4WD needed (flat terrain to parking) and enough neighbors if needed (road running through property leads to subdivision by Apalachia Lake so has traffic on it.) To the right of the road is a creek and bog, to the left we have several acres of woods to explore and relax in. You will see an occasional car on the private road that runs below the Hut but on the hill, you will have complete privacy. Please note we have not yet added a firepit or compost toilet to the tent platform so you will be needing to go to the Hut for both of those. You can get to the Hut from the Platform along the road or through the woods. It is a beautiful place to chill and hang out that we are happy to share with you. Three of ten acres to the right of the road that runs through our property are a bog that runs along a creek with the creek joining wild remote Apalachia Lake. (Pretty much unpassable Nature saying keep out.) But enjoy hiking and exploring our seven gently sloping mature wood hills. There are also lots of well maintained dirt hillside roads for exploring or biking. Enjoy our Baba Yaga hut with only the bare necessities but you will be flat, dry and able to enjoy the woods all to yourself. Or the Tent Platform pretty much complete privacy. When one is rented, we take the other off the calendar so you get the entire place to yourself. Come explore and then chill away from it all.Just added Tent Platform to our property. We are still adding adjacent compost toilet and finishing firepit but in the meantime, your choice either Tent Platform or Hut which is approximately a football field away (you will need to walk to the Tent Platform to use the organic compost toilet there.) But the good side is that all ten acres are your's to enjoy! The tent platform is a short distance up hill from the gravel driveway. Far enough away for complete privacy but close enough to get your gear up easily. Or if it storms, go enjoy our Baba Yaga hut with only the bare necessities but you will be flat, dry and able to enjoy the woods all to yourself. Please note that cabin itself is located on hilly property, but there is an [almost] flat spot in front of the cabin with a firepit. You can walk to the Hut along the private road that runs through our property or through a rough path in the woods. Also note there are no streetlights here. You will want to get here and set up before dark. Facilities, you will need to bring your own water. There is a path to a constant running crick. Good ATT cell tower based reception. Not so good for Sprint based cell tower. Come explore and then chill away from it all.

Nice little hideout
We arrived in the dark (against Karen's suggestion) so we were looking for the hut for a bit before we found it. Her instructions were clear, but you can't see the hut from the road in the dark. There is a little trail that is marked but, again, tricky to see in the dark if you don't know what you're looking for. Mostly our fault. Otherwise everything was great. Comfy firm mattress. Stove, lanterns, paper towels, etc... I will definitely stay here again. Thanks Karen!

With kids
We enjoyed our stay at the hut. Property was as described in the ad. It was a little difficult to find the hut itself at first so definitely follow the recommendation to come in during daylight.

Thundering Peace
We truly got to rough it and that's what we enjoy most about getting out to nature is no electricity, and just surrounded by beauty. We had a nice walk and got to enjoy a thunderstorm that evening. It's perfect for couples that want to just be alone together. And we did just that. Would definitely stay again.

Baba Yaga…. We survived
Overall I would say price it on point. Cold dark sparse inadequate. We were on an overnight stopover and price was right. Other than that I think they have a good base to build off of. I am not a fan of all the incense and stuff shack just had to much odor of all that. If that is your thing great parking was an issue for me to far away from the hut. The review asked if I could reccomend and I honestly have 0 meanness when I say I just can’t in its current state. Had I took owners advice and just relied on heat and no bedding we would have near froze. It was VERY cold even with the little buddy heater. I don’t think it is safe to have the 20pd propane bottle indoors and storage of other fuels etc. Something’s there need to be addressed.
