He Provides Homestead is a 3rd generation Homestead located one mile from the Appalachian trailhead. My great grandparents started an apple orchard here over 65 years ago. While most of the orchard has been removed there still lies good bones (and many new things!) with 65 + year old apple and cherry trees here on the property. We raise goats, chickens, and ducks, and also feature a one acre garden plot where we grow fresh garden veggies every year. When you book a stay here at the Robins Nest we would be thrilled to give you a farm tour and tell you about our ongoing operation where you can pet all the animals, pick your own apples and produce, eat cookies as big as your face, learn about homesteading and watch 360 degree sunrise/sunset views, along with open air star gazing. We have a small farm and camp store on our property open to the public and campers where we keep all the essentials you may need, along with our baked goods, floral jams/jellies/honeys and produce. ps; you get a free "mountain man" cookie with every stay. (you won't believe how big it is!) so come on over! Adventure is here!Enjoy a memorable getaway in the Appalachian mtns in our 1984 Ford, Thomas built school bus nested atop our working farm. Breakfast in bed menu from our micro bakery available with fresh baked cinnamon rolls, sourdough pancakes, jumbo muffins, or waffles! This converted skoolie is a best fit for adventurous,camping couples ages 20-45 and small families who are looking for a one of a kind experience! Featuring a full bathroom w/ instant hot water, a full size bed, one futon bed, a kitchen area, tv, on site camp store & more! This bus is not climate controlled however it is easily cooled by nature. An electric heater is provided for cool nights, however if cool temperatures are expected you should be prepared to keep yourself warm and remember you are camping out!

I loved staying in the school bus! It was such a unique and amazing time. Alice and Justin were such kind hosts and the bus had everything you could need. I definitely recommend staying there and hope to come back again!
