Year 6 for campers at our Farm! We hope you find the peace and beauty we've had ever since we fell in love with this property in 2012. We have welcomed a number of people from across the US as well as from several other countries. We love to share our beautiful, organic farm with friends and family as well as strangers-to-friends through Hipcamp. Take a day, weekend, or week to enjoy time in our special space! Pitch your tent or set up your camper in the primary sites next to or near the creek. 360-degree views of the mountains with famous Cold Mountain and Mt Pisgah among the views to our South. There are two large fire pits for the chillier nights/mornings with a basic grate (only 1) to go over the fire for cooking. We can supply firewood, as needed, for a small fee. It's best that you request firewood when you book your site. We have access to clean water as well as flowing water in the creek. No portapotty at this time. Check out the pictures for other views. For hikers or mountain bikers: Chestnut Mountain Nature Park includes trails for both interests just 10-12 minutes away from the Farm. The Berm Park is part of this wonderful network of trails. There are also a number of other trailheads within 45 minutes of the farm to include Little Sam Knob Trailhead and the Art Loeb/Cold Mountain Trailhead off of Hwy 215 (for hikers) and Hard Times Trailhead in Asheville for bikers and hikers. Take a look around before you come for other outdoor possibilities in the area to enjoy. Learn more about this land: We live in Beaverdam Community just north of the town of Canton. We adore our land and do our best to preserve and care for the natural beauty around us. At the farm, June is firefly month and late September/October is leaf-peeping season (no need to drive to see either of those!). We have stunning views to wake up to and babbling of the creek to lull you to sleep.WELCOME to Year 5 for campers at the Farm! We hope you find the peace and beauty we've had ever since we fell in love with this property, in 2012. Camping area selected or assigned upon arrival.
5 guests max per site
Campfires allowed
Firewood provided, firepit, communal. Yes, fires are fine, depending on the burn alerts in the area. Please do not bring firewood to the farm. Offsite wood can harbor pests and/or diseases we don't want brought onto the farm. We will provide 2-3 hours' of firewood for $7/bundle. There are two communal fire rings for all campers to enjoy. Firewood MUST be ordered and paid for in advance. No last minute fire requests.
No toilet; campers must bring camp toilets
We can have a port-a-john on property for campers not far from the camping location if we know two days in advance of any reservation. We also have hand and toilet-seat sanitizer (and paper towels), as needed.
No pets
We are saying that pets are not allowed. But, we can talk about possibilities. We have free-range chickens, so we are concerned about strange dogs. We also have dogs who *can* play well with other dogs IF the other dogs are super-friendly; but if the other dog is even slightly aggressive, they will not back down.
Potable water available
Spigot, hose, pump or well. We have well water and pumps by the henhouse and by the greenhouse--both a short walk from the camping sites.

Mountain views and a stream
Tent
What a beautiful space! So serene and peaceful. Kelly was a gracious host! The mountain views and stars were amazing. We slept really well with the calming stream next to us. We really enjoyed the little trail full of wildflowers! It's a short 20 minute drive to Asheville, which is another plus. We are grateful for the experience. We will be back!

SUPER PLACE TO CAMP!!!!
15 ft travel trailer · Group trip
We where a little skeptical thinking that it would be filled with a lot of people and not being very private. The area is awesome!! We where the only people there, but there was enough room for others if needed!!! Has a small creek. Doesn't have the best access to the creek but my kids found a way in there to play around. The sound was very soothing. Kelly and her husband where very helpful and friendly. It rained on us one day and they offered to dry our sleeping bags at their house for us. We went there for the 4th of July. It was close to Canton and Maggie Valley. Those towns paint a great picture of the small town USA 4th of July celebrations. There was a carnival in Canton and my kids loved it. Plenty of food trucks and live music. Also the Brewery in Canton offers floating down the river ending at the Brewery. The location is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and many waterfalls. My daughter and I escaped one morning to go mountain biking at the famous Berm Park. Super cool trails and only 10 minutes away. Plan on coming back with my mountian biking friends for a nice weekend.

Kelly was super welcoming and invited us to take a walk around the property. We were able to see the chickens and her beautiful flowers. The camp site is right on a creek, the land was mowed and there was a hammock and picnic table for us to use. I would definitely recommend staying at the Far Flung Farm!
