Stoney Fjord "High Banks"
What a great camp site. We really enjoyed it. Cool overlook of the river. Wooded with a nice fire ring and grill. Perfect for car camping. The overlook on the flood plain in the evening and in the morning is filled with birds and wildlife.

Awesome area in the central part of NC. This site had a good amount of space, was on the water, and was private. This host, Jody, was very responsive and kind.

Stoney Fjord "High Banks"
Secluded and quiet. Well marked…I camped at the high banks. It’s called this for a reason. Lovely view of the river, just keep dogs and kids away from the edge. Great for tent camping. I was towing a 12 foot camper and had trouble turning around, but did ok. Loved the symphony of owls at night and the splash of large fish jumping in the peaceful river. A relatively short drive from I-95

Sawmill Branch relaxing time

Stoney Fjord “Sawmill Branch”
For a quick getaway from Raleigh to have a quiet weekend to unwind, this was a great trip. The site was large, spacious, and clean. There is plenty of space to set up comfortably. The space could accommodate couple people or small group. Very private, quiet, and wooded. I enjoyed a weekend of pure relaxation. A little bit of hiking and some great trees to hang your hammock in and relax. Great fire ring as well. Great cell reception, and yet so easy to unplug.
Jody was very responsive with questions before our booking. We had the whole place to ourselves and walked over to the High Banks site and that looks like a great site as well along the river. The river was high and there was a little bit of water running over the path to get to that site. With all the recent rain, the mosquito population was up. We gave our donation to the local blood bank. Some bug spray did the trick. The weather was great. If you are planning a trip around hunting season, wear bright clothes. It was so quiet at night.

Stoney Fjord "High Banks"
Fantastic campsite right on the Neuse river. Very secluded and I didn’t see another person my whole stay. The water was quite high and there was a spot that I had to drive my sedan through a few inches of moving water, which went just fine but if you have a SUV definitely bring it if the Neuse is high.
Jody was an exceptional host and helped me in and out of the site. Will certainly be staying again.
