The Ellerbe Springs property has long been a place for people to get away and relax. The Ellerbe family first used the property as a summer escape and hunting lodge. The Ellerbe Springs Inn, which originally opened in 1890, is now a Bed & Breakfast and event venue.
In the 1950's, the property was owned by the Boy Scouts of America, who named the campground "Camp Dick Henning" in honor of the first local Boy Scout killed during World War II. In the 1970's, the then-owners constructed a campground with water and electric hook ups. Today, the current owners are in the process of constructing a campground to accommodate today's RVs, tents, and other campers. The first 6 full hook-up spaces are open, with future capacity of 100 spaces. There are plenty of areas for tents!

A very peaceful 3 days spent in and around the campground. New owners, that being said the campground is being refurbished and the restaurant wasn't open. Only 14 RV sites with full hookups. Very well spaced apart. We will be coming back in the future!

Camped with a 5th wheel very secluded peace and quiet! Shaded with great view of nature at its best! Not a great place to get TV reception/ internet but that was fine with us!

This is a quiet, pretty spot. Sites are very close to each other. There’s no bathroom, as the host advertised. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming!
