Mike is a great host!
The location was great for tent camping. It was nice and quiet. Loved that there was a bath house with outside sink available to wash up dishes. Firewood was readily available and Mike was a delightful campground host. Also loved viewing the local wildlife. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes to rough it a bit.

Love this campground!
This is a beautiful campground and the people who run it are amazing too. They were very accommodating when we arrived too late to hike down to our site and very very helpful and responsive throughout our stay.

Shady spot !
We loved our stay at Blue Bear! Site T-3 was nice and shaded. We had a big area for our 12 person tent, but it'd be tough to fit anything larger. We had great trees for 2 hammocks too. While the site is in the trees, you also have a beautiful view from the field and open sky of stars from the field. Lots of deer! We also enjoyed the campground trail..lots of elevation in a short trail! We were close to bathrooms, which were kept clean. Sometimes had to wait if someone was in the shower too bc the bathrooms are singles with showers (3). The camp hosts were awesome. It was also very nice to have ice available ($3). We will be back for sure!!

The campground is so well organized and easy to get to, plus pretty close to nice hikes and activities around Boone. The site itself is tucked away so it feels super secluded but it’s not a far walk from the car and the bathhouse. We had a wonderful time and wished we had been able to stay longer and explore some more. We’ll definitely be back!
