Nestled in the heart of southeast North Carolina and conveniently located an hour from Wilmington, Jacksonville and Fayetteville — our 40+ acre family land is situated directly on historic Black River. Well known for its beautiful trees, wildlife and fisheries, Black River is also home to the oldest bald cypress forest in the world, many being alive hundreds of years before Jesus walked the earth. We are the only riverfront camping experience on Black River so we aim to provide you the best views, the most exceptional hospitality (from hosts Lisa and Eric), with hopes that you leave completely happy with our little piece of heaven and wanting to return year after year!

Such a peaceful place to relax! Clean area with no distractions. Miss Lisa is very accommodating and helpful! Love coming here and it feels safe. Clean porta potties! This was my Girlfriend and I’s second stay here and we love it!

Site 12 - Black River Camping Ventures
The ancient Black River
Black River Camping Ventures is a top tier Hipcamp campground. This was my second stay and the camp sites are always meticulously clean and the entire campground is well maintained. The area is a small taste in the ways of the old and a great way to connect to your inner wilderness adventurer. I plan to return to further explore the Black River and it's rugged beauty and explore the many twists, turns and creeks. Lisa is an awesome host and always available for help and answers. If you haven't been, go check it out!

Site 12 - Black River Camping Ventures
Beautiful+well-maintained+expensive
The site is beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful. The toilets are clean and everything is well organized. Our main complaint is the price - it's very expensive for the amenities that there are. It was between 2 and 4 times more expensive than other campgrounds we stayed at during our 1-month trip. Considering that there is no drinking water or showers, the price is extremely high.

Number 3 Hipcamp in NC!!!
Lisa is a fantastic host!! She takes great care to maintain the sites and makes sure her customers have a great experience. She is definitely deserved of her number 3 rating in NC for Hipcamp. Second trip here for me and it was amazing. I will definitely be going back to enjoy that beautiful location. Thank you Ms Lisa for a wonderful experience and beautiful location.
