“Simple Mountain Camping” is our motto. Located approximately seven miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, At the Ridge Campground is surrounded by North Carolina’s beautiful Pisgah National Forest and the North Fork River. Here you can experience what you came to the Blue Ridge Mountains for: crisp evenings, sitting around the campfire, excellent views, relaxing in nature, hiking to waterfalls and fishing, Don’t forget our favorite, just watching the water go by! All at an affordable price.
The campsite offers a pleasant mix of natural beauty and comfort, with cabins right by a river providing a soothing backdrop of flowing water. Guests appreciate the welcoming hosts who are helpful with local tips and ensuring a warm stay, even in cooler temperatures. While the rustic setting is generally well-received, some visitors noted occasional challenges like damp firewood and the proximity of a road that brings some traffic noise. Overall, this site serves as a tranquil base for exploring nearby attractions and enjoying the calming presence of nature.
Wonderful stay in cabin #2! Host was super helpful with tips on staying warm. It was about 34 degrees and we were very toasty with the 2 space heaters provided. Comfortable beds too!
It was a very pleasant stay. We got there about an hour after sunset and didn't have difficulty finding the property in the dark. Slept well listening to the sound of the river right next to us. I didn't realize that on the other size of the river was a road and we'd also hear cars. We purchased firewood from Carrie, and it was actually $10, not $5 like it mentions on the advertisement. We ended up wanting to get more wood, and that was a bit of a hassle as Carrie isn't actually the one managing the property. There were other people involved in managing the property that we had to communicate with and go find. Ultimately would've been easier to bring our own, but nevertheless we did acquire all the firewood we wanted, albeit all damp. There were some permanent residents on the property in nearby campers, all pleasant. Overall would recommend and may return in the future.
Absolutely wonderful stay! We had such an amazing time exploring the area and coming back to a warm cabin. The sound of rushing water was like a natural white noise. Everyone should experience this at least once!
Was a very good trip. 30 minutes from brevard so we spent the day there. Plenty of amenities and was a much better option than sleeping in a tent during cold weather.
I loved the area and cabin we stayed in. It was right on the river and the host was very welcoming and took care of us! I highly recommend this spot for a base camp for all your Pisgah adventures!
my boyfriend and i had a great time, it was a great escape, very friendly owner and beautiful scenery :)
