Equestrian sites
Gallop in! Some sites cater to Hipcampers on horseback.
Perched near a hilltop, these 32 acres contain some open land but also white pine woods and a hemlock/yellow birch swamp where deer, fisher, bobcat and bear can be found. Immediately adjacent are thousands of acres of state land with miles of trails good for hiking, skiing, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Pick apples from the trees, enjoy swinging in a hammock or climb into a tree house after spending the day on the trails. Pitch your tent under the pines or in a field of goldenrod, and hear the crickets and peepers as evening falls and you sit around a fire. Traveling with horses? Bring them! We have a small pasture right next to the camping area, and water is available. You can saddle up and go right out onto the trails on state land!Sleep in hammocks or sleep on the ground.  Smell pine scent and make a mattress of pine needles. Cook a meal over an open fire, and enjoy a campfire after darkness falls. Wander among the trees, or see who is hiding among the hemlocks and yellow birches in the swamp. Hike or ski or just stay in camp and relax.  You can wander around my 32 acres, or enjoy 10 miles of trails on 3000 acres of state forest that are adjacent to my place. Bring your boots or bring your horses or bicycles. I can show you a lovely swimming hole not far away, where you can slide down chutes in the rocks or splash about in a swimming hole beneath a short waterfall.  We have some tents available if you arrive without one.

Be Prepared for No Toilet
Overall, it was a nice stay! We were the only ones there and it was quiet. The host was kind and helpful. We camped in the rear of his property and there wasn't a toilet--just a medical chair and a bucket. Would've been uncomfortable with others present, but we just dug holes when needed--glad we brought those supplies! They might have different accomodations in their backyard. We were fine without, but just changed the experience.

Doug and Valerie went above and beyond as hosts! From escorting us to the campsite, loaning us supplies from their own home, and introducing us to the birthday horse Illusion, we had a wonderful experience. Thank you again!

Friendly, Helpful, and Kind
The hosts were incredibly nice and friendly! They met me as I pulled in and showed me where everything was, had a map of the trails next to their land for me since I mentioned hiking, and in the morning got me a kettle of water for tea, took me to meet the horses, and left cookie on my car after I got back from the trails! They were lovely to talk to, and I wish I'd had more time to stay and explore. I was coming from Indiana in mid December and arrived after dark because of the long drive, so they even offered for me to stay in their camper rather than put up my tent in the dark. I would definitely recommend for anyone passing through or stopping by for a longer trip.

The hosts are very friendly and even invited us to a fire for their sister’s birthday! The pear pie was delicious! The site was clean and well kept. Nice and relaxing stay!

Wow, best campsite and hike I've had on a very long cross country adventure. Mind you my adventure was in the winter, not sure how the summer is, but if you don't mind the cold. I highly recommend in January!
