I bought this property in 2019 and use this secluded spot to read, reflect and camp. I own a larger parcel nearby where I have a log cabin and meditation center. Fresh water is available nearby from my well. The ponds, built by the DEC in the late 1940's, have wildlife (beavers, birds of all kinds and even bald eagles and a heron) and ample fish (bass, pickerel, trout). Peaceful and quiet, in dry weather you can drive to the camp with a pop up or four wheel drive car. In wet weather, it is a few hundred yards down a safe slope to the pond. Plan to follow my guidelines about whether or not your vehicle can drive down. Learn more about this land: Quiet pond- rural New York, excellent fishing, bird-watching. Covered pavilion, canoe, fire pit, water provided though you will have to haul it from nearby in your car. Perfect for pop-ups. There is no electric hook-up. The toilet is a hole in the ground and the "bath" is the pond. Be prepared for roughing it camping in a pretty spot. The Sanctuary: Pond, Gazebo
Very peaceful
My boyfriend and I camped here with our dog for 5 days and had a great time! The camp was easy to find and Jane was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. She showed us around and brought us to our campsite, which was down a hill and secluded by trees and bushes. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The water was great, we had a good time floating around and fishing. The hills/mountains on the other side made for a nice view as well.
