This property was once a working apple orchard. Over regulation made it very difficult to manage so we let it lie foul for years. Then we let a fellow farmer use it to graze his cattle. Now our children has taking it over and are raising beef cattle on the property. Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. On occasion there may be a person driving by to tend to the cattle.Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. FYI we have moved our fence to accommodate our cows who live there year-round. Therefore some of our images from previous guests are a bit difference. Still a beautiful spot. The cows just get a whole bunch closer to you. Don’t worry we don’t charge extra for petting the cows.

The area was great and the campsite was secluded next to the cattle pasture. The cows came to say hello as we were setting up our tent and our dog Sadie wanted to show them her ball. More of a quick weekend getaway, but just what we needed!

Will visit again!
Absolutely loved our weekend here! Gorgeous spot and we thoroughly enjoyed the visits from the cows! Easy to get to and ride right up to the campsite, as we were on a motorcycle. Car and small trucks would have no issues. Loved that there was an existing platform, two chairs, picking table, fire pit and chiminea. Totally private. We only saw someone on a tractor way across the field in the neighboring apple orchard. As other reviews said, it is an open spot so there is not much for shade. There’s no water or bathroom facilities. But these are not negatives, just a heads up so you know what to bring with you to this gorgeous and private spot!

Gorgeous spot. We loved the cows! It was a little tricky to find in the dark (we got stuck in traffic which delayed our arrival time). Ask for clarification on where to turn to get to the spot because once we found the turn, it was easy to get to! Overall, great experience. Would love to stay again if we ever pass through the area again.
