This property was once a working apple orchard. Over regulation made it very difficult to manage so we let it lie foul for years. Then we let a fellow farmer use it to graze his cattle. Now our children has taking it over and are raising beef cattle on the property. Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. On occasion there may be a person driving by to tend to the cattle.Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. FYI we have moved our fence to accommodate our cows who live there year-round. Therefore some of our images from previous guests are a bit difference. Still a beautiful spot. The cows just get a whole bunch closer to you. Don’t worry we don’t charge extra for petting the cows.

This campsite is a favorite for its stunning views and tranquil setting, ideal for those seeking privacy and a connection with nature. Frequent visits from friendly cows add a charming touch to the experience. While the lack of water and toilet facilities is noted, the peaceful environment and proximity to hiking trails make up for it. However, potential visitors should be prepared for a lack of shade, particularly in summer.

This campsite has stunning views, is super private and was overall a great experience. Loved having the cows come right up to the fence and had a beautiful sunset over the mountain. Would definitely come back again!

Amazing View, No Neighbors!
Tent · With pets
Beautiful site with gorgeous views! This site had tons of privacy and space to spread out. The platform, table, and chiminea were super nice; it would be lovely to have a big fire and watch the sun set. The cows came right over when we woke up and were so fun to watch. No toilet or water, so plan accordingly.

We enjoyed this site. The way it’s nestled on the land makes things feel more remote and quiet. And camping by the animals was pretty cool. The views are beautiful as well especially during fall time. Certainly worth the booking.

The spot was clean and with all the things that are mentioned. Cows are RIGHT there which is amazing! Easy and private enough. Dogs loved it!
