50 acres hosted by Carly S.
1 tent site
50 acres of woods, conveniently located just over the PA border into NY among 533 additional acres of state forest land.
Hiking, fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, or sitting around the campfire – this location is perfect for all of it.
5 minutes away from the Susquehanna River, 15 minutes away from Binghamton, 1.5 hours away from the Finger Lakes, 1.5 hours away from the Poconos. Our campsite is a simple 12x12 with a picnic table, a few benches, fire pit, hammock, and hanging hooks for lights. We can comfortably accommodate up to a 4-person tent in the space (or two 2-person tents).
The area around the 12x12 campsite is also available to pitch a tent, but it's not as level, and it's just dirt/grass... but feel free to use it if you have additional guests!
There is no electricity on the property, but we do get decent cell service.
We provide: - Picnic table - Outhouse - Outdoor fire pit - Wood ($5 per 2 hours). Any wood already on the forest floor is also up for grabs. - Grill and charcoal - Trash can for non-food items - First aid kit - Portable pressure shower
Suggested items to bring: - Tent, sleeping bag/blankets, pillows, other camping essentials - Portable charger - Toilet paper - Personal toiletry items - Trash bags - Warm clothing - Towels - Bug spray - Lights/lanterns - Hand sanitizer - Cooler
Bathroom Facilities: We have an outhouse that is right by the campsite (in view) that you can use. Please try to use it for solid waste only (liquid waste can be outside as long as it's away from the cabin/campsite) and ONLY put toilet paper in the outhouse.
Showers: We provide a NEMO Helio pressure shower. In warmer months, we can also provide a water container with tap water to use for showering/hand washing. Please just ask first to make sure.
Note: There is a local sportsman group up the road. Occasionally you can hear shooting, but it is safe and doesn't often last long.
Please also note that the entrance to the property is an unpaved gravel road and the first 1/4 mile is up a semi-steep hill. We recommend having a car with good tires and clearance (sedan is fine but nothing that is lowered) and also checking in during the day, as navigating in the dark can be difficult.
Local Recommendations: - Tedeschi's: Italian Restaurant (10 mins) - Schneider's Market: Groceries (15 mins) - Rob's Market - Groceries (10 mins)
Have a wonderful stay!
