This is a 1920's cottage that we moved and restored. The building site is an old Charchoal mound that was in use in the 1700's so there is a lot of history between the building and site where it sits. It's a beautiful spot right on the water, tranquil and full of wild life' we I built this cabin for the quiet enjoyment of our natural world. This is a place to unwind and reconnect. We have just added a 10*12 platform tent to accomodate an extra couple or for more space for older families with teenagers. This is still 1 site, tent just gives a few options if needed. You can find pricing for it in "extras" Enjoy water front camping on a quiet 15 acre pond, 4 miles from the mass border and Berkshire Mountains. Our cabin is cozy with a wood stove and beautiful outdoor fireplace, additional large fire ring and seating area. The cabin is equipped with a composting toilet and an additional large outhouse. An outdoor shower with hot water. This is a very private setting, super quiet and relaxing.water front camping on a quiet pond, 4 miles from the mass border and berkshire mountians, cabin is cozy with a wood stove and beautiful outdoor fireplace, additional large fire ring and seating area. The cabin is equiped with a composting toilet and an additional large outhouse. for groups of 4 if you want more space we have added a 10*12 canvas platform tent, its off the ground and dry. you can find pricing for the tent in "extras" this site has an outdoor shower with hot water. This is a very private setting, quiet and relaxing. We have have great gravel biking right from the cabin and lots of hiking trails at Cherry Plain State park. The cabin is perfect for a family of 4 with smaller kids, If an another couple is camping the additional fee is for use of the wall tent.

Mom + Grandma Friendly

As a busy homeschooling mom, knowing this place exists as an escape has improved my outlook on life! Tips from our late October trip: Woman and young child friendly! My 70 year old mom, 40 year old self, and 8 year old high sensory needs son had no complaints aside from wanting to stay longer. The walk to and from the parking spot is steep-ish. We preferred carrying most of our bags up instead of the cart. Smaller bags are better! Don't worry about being warm inside, the wood stove is quite good at its job and easy to learn to use. We cooked mostly on the wood stove with our cast iron from home. We used the aluminum kettle on the stove for warm water for dishes, hand washing, etc. We got ice from the dollar general. I wish I brought quilts + pillows instead of sleeping bags. It's clean and nothing I brought smells of wood smoke. The provided dishes, silverware, etc are quality enamelware and ceramic. Water from sink tasted great! Pots and pans are non stick aside from cast iron Dutch oven. Some plastic cooking utensils but many metal. Outhouse and indoor composting toilet had no smell and were easy to use with great views ;). No swimming in the pond, but there is a beautiful little river on a dirt road within walking distance and minutes by car. There were deeper spots to submerge and shallow spots to wade. We saw many large crawfish and it seemed quite clean. Of course it could look different during the summer! Thanks again Mark + family

Don’t hesitate to book this cabin

We couldn’t have been happier with this glamping experience. The pond was quiet and lovely, Mark is nearby but you don’t know it, but is helpful, flexible and happy to share tips on local eateries and sightseeing/hiking. The outdoor shower was the best thing ever! All in all an amazing experience and we will be recommending it to others. Thank you Mark for everything!!

Most beautiful and magnificent location and experience. Remote, romantic and private.. cabin had well stocked kitchen and was very clean. Host was very kind and flexible.

Otters and Eagles Cabin

Our family had an incredible weekend staying at the cabin. My 8 and 12 year old daughters loved the loft and the hammock. We all enjoyed using the outdoor shower after a day of exploring and hiking on Mt Greylock. The cabin was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Mark’s suggestions of Blueberry Hill Market and the Cantina were also delicious and helpful when we realized we accidentally left some food at home. We hope to return for another adventure in the future!

Beautiful cabin and location

Mark's cabin was so special! We loved the cabin, the firepit, looking out on all the wildlife, and having the outdoor adventure we wanted while also having the convenience we needed for traveling with a toddler. Thanks so much Mark. We will be back!!!
