We are located on a country road with 5+ manicured campsites to pick from or choose your own adventure throughout the 50 acre forest if you want to explore. Beat the heat in the cool flowing creek that runs alongside an old world apple orchard. Not only is the incredible 5000 acre Shindagin Reserve within walking distance but it also contains miles of mountain bike trails you can literally get lost in. Beautiful land! We will definitely be back to camp. Bufferflies by day and So MANY fireflies by night. The stars were breathtaking and the creek access is one of a kind. We even had a friendly cat camp with us until morning! Kids had fun and we had a great time. Thank you Theo!

Boondocks Paradise outside Ithaca

Lion's Gate is a beautiful bit of paradise. If you're boondocking, picking a creekside spot is ideal. There are several sites along the creek including a platform and yoga mat right at the water's edge. The property owners are very chill and accommodating. We will be back! One thing, if your GPS is taking you to Blinn Rd, don't follow the map. Plug in the Prospect Valley Road address and that will get you to Lion's Gate.

Cozy spot with much to explore

Great spot to really connect with nature and yourself. The grounds have the feel of a festival type atmosphere, with plenty of tucked away areas perfect for relaxing and exploring. Theo was quick to respond to any question we had and deeply welcoming. The tent was sturdy and kept us dry in an all day rainstorm, but the true beauty of the site was in the surroundings. Access to the creek is great, but keep an eye out for nettle. Definitely would recommend this site for those who like the great outdoors.

We arrived at dusk in the pouring rain. Theo was great about communicating and understanding about our late arrival. Unfortunately the campsites our down a mown grass path by the creek. We didn’t want to attempt in the dark and rain with Promaster RV so we parked near the road at the side of the house. There was no obvious electrical hookup. Ask Theo for an extension cord and you can plug in. We never did find the outhouse/bathroom. Theo is super chill. Recommend communicating ahead of time about your specific needs if you are planning to camp in an RV

The location of the tent near the creek and the backdrop is one of a kind. Theo had a solid tent with so much space to fit more than the 4 of us who camped. The overall vibe of the property with the camper bus was also awesome. Theo and his partner were so friendly, nice and welcoming. The only thing I’d say needs improvement would be the toilet situation and that’d make this one of the best Hipcamp spots.
