Nestled in the heart of Keene Valley Village, our location offers a unique blend of natural beauty and local charm, perfect for those aiming to conquer the 46 High Peaks. Enjoy the rustic allure of camping across from the Ausable River paired with the convenience of nearby amenities. Indulge in world-class coffee at Old Mountain Coffee, savor delightful dinners at Ausable Inn, Noonmark Diner, or browse the local produce at the Farmers Market at Marcey Field. For connectivity and remote work, the library next door provides Wi-Fi and computer access. If you're feeling sporty, consider taking tennis lessons at the Keene Valley Country Club right next door. Experience the best of both worlds here in the scenic Adirondacks. Your wilderness tent spot is in the heart of the High Peaks in the Adirondack Mountains, on an acre of land behind a Victorian house. We are a small female-led team building a self-sustaining permaculture vacation property. You might see us working on the barn, house, gardens, and we will graciously greet you. You might also see the family German Shepherd Dog who loves to swim in the river on occasion. The forest at the back is perfect for setting up your tent. There is a place to use a small stainless steel firepit closer to the house and less under wilderness canopy. there is a picnic table on the porch of the house. Kindly use the toilet inside the vacation home or follow "leave no trace" principles and carry out what you carry in. Enjoy lovely night sky views and the soothing sounds of the babbling river. We are 25 minutes from Lake Placid, 50 minutes from Plattsburgh, and about 1.5 hours from both Montreal and Burlington, VT. You'll find thousands of marked hiking trails nearby, as well as ample opportunities for paddling, swimming, fishing, boating, and camping, all close at hand.Enjoy the tranquil sounds of the nearby river, just 150 feet away, as you set up your tent within the treelined perimeter consisting of about 400 sf next to the grassy area. Choose a spot that suits you best for a delightful outdoor experience but stay clear of the grass as it will be mowed about every 10 days without notice. For added convenience, picnic tables, a fire pit, and a water hose are available a short 1-2 minute walk towards the house porch where there is also a bathroom. Requested laundry facilities are also accessible to enhance your stay. Walk to trailheads including the Garden Parking lot, Rooster Comb, and Hopkins. Walk across the street for the most amazing coffee, gift shop, and dining experience. Directly next door to the house is the Keene Valley Library with summer long events. Walk next door to the Keene Valley Country Club for tennis lessons. Drive a short way to waterfalls, ponds, lakes, and rivers.
