Unplug, unwind, and recharge amongst 200 acres of conservation forest at our peaceful waterfall campsite in a secluded, private 3-acre meadow . Just off the NY Scenic Byway County Route 16, there is tons of space for larger groups. A New York favorite. Greet the morning sun from your tent as it rises above High Peak. Surrounded by the Indian Head Wilderness peaks, you'll enjoy the cool mountain air at night and stunning views all day long. Hike the trails and then dip in the creek when you get back. This campsite is equipped with a single Queen-sized cot with air mattress, woodstove, portable camp toilet, solar heated sun shower. Bring your own bedding/sleeping bags. Drive-up access requires SUV-type clearance for the creek crossings. For easier 2 wheel access check out my other 5-star secluded campsite- Schoharie Creekside Tent. Only a quick drive to Tannersville, Hunter, Windham, Palenville, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Catskill and Saugerties where you can explore the cute town, restaurants, and shops. The site is perched on the banks of the Roaring Kill Stream, perfect for swimming and fishing. There are also lots of flat areas to put additional tents. Great access to the Roaring Kill Trailhead and to the Devil's Path Hiking Trail. If you're looking for some water activities take a short drive to Tinker Town Tube Rental located in Phoenicia, where you will also find a popular local spot, the Phoenicia Diner. Site guidelines Do be careful driving on the dirt jeep track out to the camp. Don't miss swimming in the Roaring Kill Falls. Do leave the campsite just as you found it. "Don't feed the bears." Seriously, do keep a very clean camp. Do ask questions about local activities- swimming holes, hiking, etc. Please take all trash with you, leave no trace!

Great place, quite and secluded. Mark has been a great host and helped us out when our car battery died.

Best remote campsite ever! Absolute peace and tranquility. The wood stove kept me toasty. Lose to tons of amazing hikes! Can’t wait to stay again

Camping at Marks was tremendous!! The views and set up were beyond expectations and he was a kind and attentive host. Lovely spots to visit locally if you’re into that or you can spend the whole time in the beautiful meadow! Definitely recommend!

Such an amazing stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip. The area is everything you could want and more. Right behind your tent is a running creek which you get to enjoy all night and all day. The privacy is unbelievably perfect. We plan on coming back soon!

Our favorite place!
We’ve been dreaming about coming back to this campsite since we first camped here two years ago. It is the epitome of perfection and we are beyond grateful that Mark shares this amazing space.

Private site, waterfall hike, gem!!
Fantastic site. Gorgeous hike to a waterfall nearby, and wonderful privacy. Host was very sweet and allowed access to drinkable water and firewood (for purchase). Solar shower and benches on site were clean. Had cloudy nights, but stargazing must be amazing too. Drive in was straightforward, but requires stream crossings which require AWD and decent ground clearance for cars. Open field adjacent to campsite made for great area to frisbee and football. 5 minute driving distance from coffee and donuts (Fred's is worth it!!) and 10min driving distance from Tannersville downtown. Would definitely return!!
