This property is 15 acres mixed with open field and forested areas. Only 5 minutes from Lamoka and Waneta Lake, 15 minutes from Penn Yan (Keuka Lake) and to Watkins Glen (Seneca Lake). 11 miles to both the Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport and the Windmill crafts and farm market (saturdays) in Penn Yan. Several local Mennonite owned shops and markets of every variety within minutes. We are surrounded by rolling hills and breath taking valley views that pale in comparison to the gorge and waterfall we have right on this property! This land was acquired in 2010 and an off grid cabin was then built on it . Then came the cultivating of the garden, building of structures for campers, raising of a few chickens, and continuing to honor and respect this beautiful land while using it to be self sufficient and self reliant. We have since built a second cabin on the property and are ready to offer the original cabin for campers to enjoy! You can join in and I’ll guide you through gardening experiences and opportunities ,off grid living tutorials, gathering of eggs and tending to the chickens, and a hands on approach to spreading the knowledge that I have acquired while living off grid for 11 years. Would you like to help garden, gather the eggs, pick apples, watch a chainsaw carving demonstration....? (All free of charge, scheduling will be available when you arrive ) That is of course, only to those that wish to participate. You certainly can just come and camp in a peaceful forest, interrupted by nothing but the chirps of birds and the sound of the waterfall.Talk about a birds eye view! From the deck you can see (through the trees) the breath taking view of the valley. Unless all the trees are in full foliage, then you’ll see the forest in all its glory. And man! The privacy of this cabin location is ideal for a get away. Swing your cares away in the provided hammocks. Roast marshmallows over the fire pit. Hike the 15 acre woods. Cook over the pit, on the provided grill or indoors on the stove range. Everything you need is here for you to relax! You only need bring food, a cooler, you favorite beverages, clothes and toiletries.

Jennifer is a fabulous host. Any question I had before or during the trip was answered quickly. The property was lovely and felt remote even though it was only a short drive into town. And, bonus it’s about 7 minutes away from several wineries!! There is a creek/waterfall in the property but very little water running when we visited. If you plan to use the creek/waterfall for swimming or rinsing off ( note no showers at this property) you may want to check water levels ahead of time so you are prepared. The sites were a little closer together than I expected but at no time did we feel crowded. The driving conditions are best suited for a 4x4. We brought our Nissan Altima but should have brought the Jeep as the Altima bottomed out when we were getting to/from our site.

We stayed here thinking it would be a great experience for the kids to experience true camping. Well we called asked to make sure their were showers and water on site, like the listing advertised. When we got there we asked where the showers were? She mentioned there's no true shower but the gorge, but no soap in water allowed (no big deal bad for streams). When we got to this "gorge" and "picturesque" water fall it was barely a trickle with no safe pass for the kids to get down to see it (trickle better than nothing). Then she informs us she had a bad poison ivy problem which wouldnt have been a bad thing if her answer to where is it the worst so the kids dont go there and her answer was everywhere is horrible with it. The hiking trails were just area between the alarming close camp sites 10 minutes total to cover them all. When we got to camp site 4 (wooded site) there were 2 trees in the brush like of poison ivy and raspberry bushes. So there was no shade (reason we wanted it was for trees and shade) told us not to hang hammocks from the trees which was a bummer. land did not have one level spot which would have been nice to know way before hand to bring necessary gear. She also charged me a cancellation fee for booking the wrong day and she called me and told me to change it wouldnt charge anything well it did and we paid extra because we had 10 people going when we got there she charged another 10$ under the table. Waivers were not present no receipts for purchase of fire wood or ice. Overall alot of lies she worded it how she wanted to, to get campers to come when we called and ask if she would've been honest we would have chosen a different camping spot the small kids were miserable there wasnt anything that she said or advertised. Theres more i was absolutely annoyed with but thats the majority. Definitely would not recommend would encourage people to avoid it and spend less money and camp at a state park.
