Once owned by a group of gentlemen who liked to come down to this rustic hunting camp and escape the hustle and bustle of the city....(and their wives..lol) Through the years they brought their families and friends. Eric purchased the property from his father and has since cleared the land and added several outbuildings. He put in two ponds, a suana, a stage, barn and many other amenities. He and Amy have since worked on building a new bathhouse to accommodate more guests. We welcome you to Backwoods Manor and hope you enjoy your stay!! Backwoods Manor
Amy and Eric Exceeded Expectations
Amy and Eric (and all the other guests during our stay at Backwoods Manor) were the embodiment of “come as strangers, leave as friends,” during our stay with them during the Total Solar Eclipse in April 2024. Backwoods’ Manor is on a well maintained stretch of land, equipped with an extensive outdoor kitchen, covered seating pavilion, dish washing station, lovely camp bathrooms, a central bonfire circle, a honeymoon cabin, an earthen sauna, two ponds, an orchard, a private backwoods trail, so much scenery, and plenty of space for several groups to sprawl out camp and enjoy their time there. Both the facilities and the property were clean and posh, yet unpretentious. The setup of the space is thoughtfully designed so that it’s easy to join group gatherings to socialize with the hosts and other guests but it’s not necessary or required if one wants to keep to themselves. (Though it’s worth joining at least once to listen to some of the hosts’ enthralling stories.) The hosts are active and engaging: they want to be there at their little slice of heaven just as much as you do! They enforce enough rules to keep everyone safe and happy while also being open-minded and supportive of safe/sane merriment from their guests. They had tons of great suggestions on stuff to do in the area. While Amy and Eric will say that Backwoods Manor is still a work in progress, I think it’s just perfect as it is. I am so looking forward to booking another stay at this most special place.

Backwoods Manor
Backwoods manor is really secluded and so so beautiful. Lot’s of different spaces to spread out and have your own little campsite. Amy and Eric were amazing hosts who were sweet and generous and respected our privacy and were so accommodating with our reactive dog (his first time camping). Can’t recommend enough!

Magical Backwoods Manor
This place was AMAZING!!!! Not only was it a magical location, with a beautiful camping experience, but the hosts made the vibe so warm and welcoming we ended up spending time hanging out with so many of the other campers and left feeling like friends with a number of the other campers and the hosts. Amy and her husband were so cool, they were kind and helpful, they had great energy which made me feel really safe and comfortable being there by myself with my young son. Also, the way they have it set up is unique, you can have privacy if you want or you can choose to be more social of you prefer. The big campfire was cool too because it was a hangout which prompted meeting the other guests which we really liked. We came for the eclipse and ended up getting along so well with everyone we had an impromptu eclipse party together, it was very special, and I hope to come back and camp here again! The camp was beautiful, great amenities! So grateful for the hosts, who had a beautiful vision for this camp and obviously worked very hard to bring it to life. I’d give 10 out of 10 stars if I could… 🙏🏻

Backwoods Manor
Awesome place
Incredible property. Amy and Eric were so kind and welcoming. The cooking pavilions are filled with everything you need, the showers are the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campsite. I was skeptical on the community fire but I really enjoyed the conversations around it. This isn’t a typical “camping” experience but it’s certainly one to remember!

Backwoods Manor
Beautiful, peaceful, and a blast.
This place is a hidden gem and truly amazing. We had the best time and everything was clean, organized, and so beautiful. Amy is the best communicator - and incredibly flexible and accommodating. Our group loved the stage and lights! The bathhouse is a unique and relaxing experience not to miss. Can’t recommend Backwoods Manor more highly.
