Great location near Hat Head and South West Rocks This lovely 4 acre camping spot is situated at Kinchela on the tidal Kinchela Creek which runs directly into the mighty Macleay river. You can fish or set a crab trap, kayak, paddle board, bring the tinny or just relax and enjoy the water view and surrounding farmland. A few shade trees and quiet surroundings makes this the perfect spot for your next getaway. Fire baskets available. Conveniently located only a 5 minute drive to Gladestone shops and hotel. There is a tap and hose (town water) on site. Safe surroundings for solo travellers. Last Minute Bookings Welcome subject to availability 😊Lovely creek frontage campsite located in a rural area at Kinchela. Surrounded by cattle and silage farms close to Hat Head and South West Rocks. Relax and enjoy the water view and farmland with fire pits available onsite. The convenience of Gladestone shops - bakery, butcher, general store, chemist, fuel and hotel are just 5 minutes drive away. Smithtown general store and hotel are also 5 minutes away. You can fish, drop a crab trap, paddle board or kayak directly from the tidal creek. The mighty Macleay river is accessible by boat in a no wash zone just 1 km away. Town water tap and hose on site for drinking and filling caravans.

We absolutely loved our time at Cherrae & Mark's. The area was well maintained, with a fire pit supplied. We purchased wood as well and Mark delivered it to our campsite. Hubby spent many hours fishing but not catching much. Hahaha. All communication was quick and relevant. Thank you for providing such a great, safe place to stay.

Windermere Great Place to Stay
Fantastic place to stay. Dog Friendly. Large caravan sites. Short drive to South West Rocks and Hat Head. Good fishing and Mark is friendly host. Booked for two nights and extended for another two.

We loved camping at Charrae and Marks place. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we still had a lovely time. The kids fished and swam all day and it’s a great spot to take your dogs.
