We had amazing time here! First, I’d highly recommend visiting the town if you have the opportunity especially on the weekend.
We love having the place to ourselves, the creek is just a few steps from the campsite so we took every opportunity to enjoy it.
We will definitely be back in the future as this has been one of the best campsites we’ve visited so far.
The only thing we didn’t like was the horse flies which were chasing us around all day (I guess it’s part of being out in nature) make sure you take repellent for the midges too.

Peaceful large almost level area next to the creek. Easy creek access. 👌 Necia was great to have a chat with.

We’ll be back!
Lovely private spot with all of the essentials, alongside a chuckling river and swimming hole. And with plenty of wildlife! Thanks to Necia for the delicious crumpets!

Magical camp spot by the river
This place is simply magic! Such a lovely spot on the river with a great swimming hole just a few steps from the campsite. We just spent the days relaxing and watching the water flow as well as observing the abundance of wildlife including a goanna, several snakes (we had one very warm evening with 3 pythons patrolling the campsite looking for easy prey & a green snake visit the following day) and even a dingo on the other side of the river. If you are looking for a quiet place to chill and relax, this is a great spot to come to.
Plenty of level ground and we even had our camp shower setup overlooking the creek which made for a luxurious way to freshen ul at the end of the day.
There is a great simple toilet, picnic table and chairs and a fantastic fire pit that we made use of and
Necia dropped off the sourdough crumpets we ordered plus popped back with a jar of delicious local honey when we mentioned we’d left ours at home. They made a yummy breakfast buttered and fried in a pan with a lid on as per her instructions.
The only drawback (which is part of being outdoors) was a VERY healthy population of horse flies which were annoying and also really nasty biting midges which have left my feet covered in itchy spots. So bring your tropical strength insect repellant and some long pants/sleeves as well as closed footwear if you prefer to avoid the chemicals.
Even with the annoying bugs, we so thoroughly enjoyed our time here that we are already planning for our next visit.
