Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of campsites available. Please note: access to the river is not adjacent to campsites 1, 2 or 3 as the banks of the river are steep. There is access to the river at other spots. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.)
We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall.
Directions to find us:
From the South
-off the Pacific highway at
Taree through Wingham,
Follow the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls. We are approx. 5 kms from the falls turnoff.
From the north-
Off the Pacific Highway:
Again the brown tourist signs will get you to Ellenborough Falls
Port Macquarie end through Comboyne-either way requires access over narrow, dirt roads.
From the Falls turnoff: continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). You will cross over 2 bridges. After the 2nd bridge, the grounds are on your right at the top of the small hill. 542 Glenwarrin Road Elands.
Larger rigs are not advised.
One toilet available and limited tank water - please BYO water and be water wise with the tank water at the hall. Well behaved pets are welcome. We do try to keep a limit on the number of animals on site at any one time so a quick notice to Kate if you plan to bring your furry friends, please.
Hall available for hire - please send an enquiry.

Loved camping at Little Plains Hall, campsite wasn't too crowded when we arrived and the locals were lovely. Some great waterfalls nearby. We had all we could ask for and some lovely drives to add!
Was a nice place, but the add makes it seem as though camps a seperate from each but 3, 4, and 5 are about 20m from each other. It also states that they are creek or river side but access to the water is not that great
Each of the sites were spaced apart really well and there was a pretty good option for shade for mornings or evenings.
Unfortunately, due to dry conditions the water level was really low and we only found the one way (via site 6) to safely get to the water to put our feet in. Thankfully it was much cooler and shaded by the water.
The functioning regular toilet (not a drop toilet) was a nice surprise.
Little Plain Halls Ground was such a great getaway. We camped on site 3 and were lucky it offered plenty of shade from the sun.
All the sites are pretty spread out so there's enough room for each group. The toilet was clean and great to have.
Being so close to Ellenborough Falls was a great escape from the Summer heat.
Well kept grounds. Flushing loo a great bonus. Very close to other campers though, and advertising a river camp, expected to be able to access the water to swim,or at least see it!
I loved camping at Little Plain Hall. The location was easy to find, it was dog friendly and having access to a flushing toilet made my stay much more pleasant.
