Jila Camp Grounds
Family friendly, safe swimming
Great spot, the river was awesome especially for young kids. Cleanest flushing toilets I’ve seen at a Hipcamp. We arrived on a Sunday as everyone was packing up. Looked like it was quite a busy spot on weekends but we only had 2 other campers around for our short stay.

Glamping
2nd time staying Phil’s place. After a year the difference Phil has made to the place is amazing. There’s a new glamping tent that was recently completed. A great place to stay around spring as you get the best of both worlds. Cold enough for a fire in the evening and warm enough for a dip in the shallow stream for the kids. Highly recommended!

Jila Camp Grounds
Expensive for what it is
We camped 1 night here, ( 4 adults, 5 kids) it was ok, but certainly not worth the price Pros: -1hr from Sydney - dog friendly Cons - toilets dirty with no lights - cow poo everywhere - smelly

Jila Camp Grounds
Made great memories at Jila with our child and friends, stayed Friday and Saturday night. Great facilities and location. Throwing the ball around the shallow water whilst kids play in the sand a highlight. Several other groups were there but heaps of peace and quiet. Very chill. Cheers and we'll be back!

Jila Camp Grounds
Great spot. Bring a fly net!
Loved the spot, really beautiful area, amazing to take the family to as well. Kids loved the water and the soccer field. Only downside is the flies are crazy to the point we couldn’t eat outside during lunch cause there were hundreds of flies.

Jila Camp Grounds
Beautiful spot by the river!
Jila Camp was a great first off grid experience for us. Campsites are all along the river with your own fire pit. Plenty of fire wood around, bring an axe, or bring your own firewood. Bring a shovel for the cow patties. Sites are big so you can be totally separate from other campers. Or bring a group for a great family friendly time. You’re only 10 minutes from Richmond but it feels like you are hours away from civilisation. Sunrise is beautiful and you can hear all the birds, you are truly connecting with nature. Beautiful tall trees surround the camp, shady as well. But you can pick sunny spots too. The river is amazing, sandy and pebbly. Shallow enough in sections to play with the kids for hours. Awesome for small kids. Dog friendly. Phil’s dog is so friendly, he came for a visit. My girls loved him. Suitable for most vehicles, 4WD and AWD best. Even saw a 24ft caravan, so accessible for off road or semi off road caravans. Secluded yet you felt comfortable and the place has a welcoming friendly energy. Was a pleasure staying here. Will be back.
