We live on 12 acres (6 useable acres as the rest is creek and cliff face). The backdrop is trees and cliff face and on the otherside is the train tracks.
It's important that you are aware that the train line is active both day and less frequent at night but there is some nice associated with that.
During your stay you are welcome use the toilet block with a proper toilet.
In the available paddock there is shade from trees as well as a home made fire pitt in the cooler months.Welcome to Durham Lodge Farm
The camp paddock is about 100 meters from the main house and is a private area of the property due to the trees and bushland surrounding. We ask that you don't wander around the house area and stick between the camp paddock and where the bathroom is located. There is a tight turn coming off the bridge which is why it's only suitable for cars, camper trailers and pop up tents.
We are not far from the Hume Highway, so it's a convenient stop if heading through Sydney, but you don't want to hit much traffic. You just turn off the Hume Highway and then the next turn is into our lane.
Coles, K-mart, coffee shops, and cafes are less than 5 minutes away with Aldi and Wollies being 10 minutes drive.
There is an active train line bordering the paddock (trees line in between), so be aware there is noise associated with that. It's also important to keep good supervision of dogs and kids for this reason. We don't recommend our site for young children due to the trains being close by. The trains do run overnight but not as common over the weekend or public holidays. It is important that you understand that it is an ACTIVE train line.
Apart from fire bans, you are welcome to light a fire, but please bring your own wood. You are welcome to forage in the paddock for wood and sticks during your stay.
You will have access to a tap in the adjacent paddock to get water via a blue drinking hose.
Some local activities include the Dingo Sanctury in Bargo, the Picton Go Karting Track, Picton Biotanic Gardens, Thirlmere Lakes National Park, Cedar Creek Orchard and very popular Skydiving.
