We are located in the Dungog Shire, in the Hunter Region of NSW. This area is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Please note we do not have toilet facilities at the moment. Our pump is out of action. We will delete this message when toilet back in operation. Before booking ensure you have your own toilet. Horseshoe camp is a perfect location for couples or families to get away for a short or extended stay. The Barrington Tops National Park, State Forests, Chichester Dam, river systems as well as the historic and scenic character of the area provide for a stunning experience. There's plenty of sightseeing and exploring awaiting visitors to this area. The seclusion and privacy of Horseshoe camp allows for total relaxation in a beautiful rural setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We are a quiet camp and cater for like minded guests who enjoy nature and their own space. Horseshoe was originally a small dairy farm with a history going back to the 1800's. The land comprises fertile river flats surrounded by the Williams River. The higher land comprises mainly forested areas with some sites offering good views over the countryside. There are several campsites to choose from including some situated on the banks of the Williams River. Your choice and subject to weather conditions. Allowing only four sites to be occupied ensures privacy for our guests, Horseshoe camp is only 10 minutes drive, (7km) from Dungog township. Please note, our river sites may not always be available-subject to flooding or boggy access track. The seclusion and privacy of our property allows for total relaxation in a beautiful setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We welcome grey nomads, families and sporting enthusiasts such as bushwalkers, bird watchers, fisher folk and cyclists. Our Hipcamp is a quiet camp, and as such we are unable to accommodate parties or large groups. If you are self contained all the better we do however have a flush toilet and water available if needed. Enjoy the plentiful bird life, and natural surrounds, the stars at night, sounds of the river, all from your grassed, mostly level, campsite. Perhaps a stroll around the property or along the riverbank would be to your liking. There is a dedicated firepit area near the large shed, please only use this firepit for your campfire. You can purchase firewood at the local service station or firewood provider in town. Alternatively wood can be cut on site under direction. Bring your own chain saw. We do ask that you take your rubbish with you on departure. The campsite can accommodate small caravans, camping vehicles such as campervans and camper trailers but not large motorhomes or large caravans. Our river sites may not always be available subject to flooding or boggy access track. Located only minutes away from Dungog township all the amenities provided in this area are within easy reach including Dungog Common and the popular Mountain Bike Trail. Pets on leashes are allowed subject to our approval. Please contact us prior to booking as we have cattle on the property.

There Nights Away for a Recharge
What a wonderful spot. It was great to speak with Michael ahead of our trip, and then to be greeted then guided to our spot. Travelling solo (with my dog😊) it’s always important for me to feel comfortable with the location and with the hosts and Horseshoe was perfect. My dog and I enjoyed the privacy of our spot and being able to duck down to the river to explore or have a quick dip (the dog, not me 😜). The one day of misty drizzle we had on our three night stay didn’t put a damper on things - hanging out in the tent watching the fog over the river and fields beyond really enforced the recharge we came here for. Thank you, Michael. I’ll definitely be putting Horseshoe on my list of spots to return to.

Dungog Horseshoe Camp
The property was secluded and emerald green after recent rain. We had a site a very short stroll to the river. It’s close to Dungog, which hasn’t changed much since the 90s. We brought our own fire pit and sat around the fire at night admiring the stars shining like diamonds on black velvet . We slept v well. I’d highly recommend Michael’s property. Best you are fully equipped with own toilet and shower .

A lovely spot right by the river. There was another camper close by when we were there but it was secluded enough we didn't notice them much at all.

Happy campers! ⛺️
This hip camp was incredibly beautiful! Beautiful river wrapping around the property with turtles and platypus. Gorgeous forest 🌳 - birdsong 🐦 in the morning and frogs 🐸 at night. Amazing stars ✨. Ten minutes to Dungog - a sweet little town with everything you need - the kids loved the pump track and mountain bike park. Dump point and bins at the Showground. Michael was a very kind and considerate host - we very much enjoyed our chats. We will be back!
