Just three short miles from Oliver Lee State Park, our primitive camp doesn't yet have all of the amenities of the state park, but we offer amenities the park doesn't! Your Camp Host, Chef Üdø, is onsite most days and evenings, and has 30 years' experience in the catering and private chef biz, and as a camp host. He's happy to coordinate hot meals for you and your companions! No more need to go into town to get a pizza or some icky fast food! We will make you a homemade pizza, dry-aged steak, brined chicken, buffalo burger, or lasagna...all in-house. Vegan, vegetarian, kosher, low-sodium, and most other dietary restrictions are no problem! We'll bake you a birthday cake, brownies, pie, or even Crème brûlée! Contact Chef Üdø for more details and please check out our menu in the “Extras” section of our campsite listing. We can make just about anything in our sanitary kitchen facilities. We cook with a spirit of Love and inclusion in our kitchen, and it shows! ❤️ Chef Üdø maintains current local food handler's certification, as well as HAACP federal certification. Prices are friendly and competitive with local restaurants. Vacuum-sealed frozen meals, aka “sous vide” available for most recipes. (Please check “extras” section for more detail) We offer a 15amp electrical connection, access to clean running water, and access to our 4 acre back pasture. And if you prefer a more luxurious camping experience, we offer a BnB experience in our amazing rooftop tent!! This package includes exclusive use of the entire campsite, as well as a catered meal for two! We feature unparalleled views of the sunrise over the mountains, as well as convenient access to the park and Lincoln National Forest, White Sands National Monument, BLM off-road parklands, and nearby Alamogordo. Firewood available onsite for friendly prices (provided there isn't a current burn ban). **Be among the first to experience the most luxurious tent camping in our SmittyBilt Overlander Gen. 2 XL rooftop tent! Crisp, freshly sanitized linens, soft fleece or cotton blankets available. (Please note rental is *only* for the rooftop tent. Jeep rental is not available). For warmer months, we provide Air Conditioning for the rooftop tent at no extra cost! Additional onsite and backcountry packages are available, including fully-catered backcountry excursions in the Lincoln National Forest, wildlife spotting tours, photo tours, and even backcountry drive-in movies are available! Campfire setup, breakfast and omelette bar also available. ***Please note we do not yet have a handwashing sink but provide a spigot or water hose. Our mountain view campsite is located inside a converted antique steel corral. It is situated at the back of our land and is accessible by a separate entrance. Privacy screen is provided on the back side of the campsite, leaving an unobstructed view east towards the beautiful mountains of the Lincoln National Forest. The sunrise over the mountains is spectacular most mornings (see pics) and the stargazing at night is amazing! Your host, Chef Üdø, is happy to have dinner or lunch waiting for you when you arrive! Please contact the Chef for menu options. We are happy to accommodate tent campers, pop-ups, vans, small RVs, and rooftop tent campers in this site. **We also offer a rooftop tent for rent by the night. Linens provided**. Ground is level. There is a composting toilet onsite. We don’t have a handwashing sink yet, but it’s coming soon. This campsite is set on 5 acres. While you can see our neighbors houses off in the distance, we only rent two campsites on our land at a time, so you will have privacy from other campers. ***We are especially happy to welcome Veterans, motorcycles, and tree-hugging Hippies :D. Love for all included!

Wish we stayed longer! A total gem
We totally loved camping on Chef-Üdø’s land! You should definitely go for his lasagna and pancakes, and his rosemary bread is a perfect addition to anything. One of the best meals in our entire lives. Moreover, he was very welcoming, very helpful with recommendations and simply nice to talk to. Recommended experience 10/10!

Best camping experience ever
Chef Udo was incredible!! We ordered nachos ahead of time and upon arrival decided to order calzones as well. It was very windy so he invited us to his backyard to eat the nachos and calzones. He even gave us complimentary ice tea and homemade truffles. He was so kind and we had such a great time! Would love to visit again!

Host was friendly and pleasant. The space was packed dirt playa. No picnic table, no shade and a “privacy” iron fence with torn material. The toilet was very open and made with old lumber-perfect for spiders.

Camping with delicious food!
This was a delightful place to rest our heads during my trip to White Sands and Carlsbad. The site itself is about 20 minutes from White Sands national park and a 3 hour drive to Carlsbad. Chef Udo did an excellent job communicating and really prioritized our enjoyment during our meal and stay at his property. Not even mentioning the delightful convenience of not having to think about dinner after a long day of hiking, the food itself was phenomenal and went way beyond any expectations I might have had. We went for the burgers and the smoked cheese, and both were delightfully smoky and full of nuanced flavor. We were completely satisfied by the end of that meal, and enjoyed some nice conversation with Chef Udo. The campsite was flat and not rocky and had more than enough space for our car, tent, and a couple of chairs. The area is pretty dark as is, and Chef made a point to turn off all his lights so we could enjoy some of the most spectacular star gazing I have ever seen. I would highly recommend this site if you are looking for a unique and enjoyable camping experience.
