Timberon New Mexico is considered a small peaceful retirement community. The town is located within the Sacramento Mountains on the southern edge of the Lincoln National Forest. The town has a 9-hole golf course, lodge, pool, church, airstrip and a volunteer fire department. Guests in the area can enjoy many activities such as camping, fishing, swimming, golfing, hiking, biking, ATV/UTV, winter activities, local restaurant and two well equipped stores for groceries and other camping and RVing accessories. Check out Timberon.org for town details.Timberon Golf & RV campsite is a two acre private campsite with two gravel RV pads. Both pads have 30 amp service, water & waste connections. You’ll typically have the camp site to yourself on occasion both RV pads will get booked so you may have one other camper at the camp site. You can check the availability calendar on both camp sites to determine availability. Timberon is located thirty minutes south of Cloudcroft NM in the Lincoln National Forest. Guest can enjoy many activities in Timberon such as camping, fishing, golfing, hiking, biking, ATV/UTV trails, winter activities, local restaurant and two well equipped stores for groceries and other camping RVing accessories. Too off grid for me.
The site itself is broad and open. Nice for an RV and camping. To reach it was a little rough. Once you’re about a couple of miles away the road begins really rugged and steep to get to the campsite. If you don’t have 4 wheel drive I don’t recommend it. There is also no cell signal for about 30 minutes before you reach your destination. Nor is there cell signal at the site. This is frustrating and could be dangerous if something were to occur. I did not stay for safety reasons.

Mountain top relaxation
The campsite is up the mountain near the golf course. The golf course has a wonderful restaurant, and they willingly share their wifi and allow you to walk along the course. The campsite has a rock base throughout, good lighting, and full hookups. Andrew provided excellent directions.

Water, power and sewer all worked well. Roads to get to the site were very difficult for us to pull our 5,000 lb travel trailer with our 2016 Tahoe. Beautiful area - we saw lots of elk around sundown.

Horrible roads up to site; 28 miles to nearest town for gas. Never saw host. Town of Timburon has 200 residents; all very nice.

Site was easy to get to! Had minimal traffic and was secluded from neighbors. Enjoyed some pizzas and desserts from Connie’s pizza and cafe!

I loved camping here! everyone in the town is super friendly, and it has amazing views! it’s very quiet at night and the night sky is super clear. definitely recommend !
