PLEASE NOTE:
• There are narrow stairs to get to the sleeping loft which are not suitable for those with poor balance. This listing is not suitable for children under 4 years old.
• Cell signal is spotty for a few miles around us, so confirm directions and check-in details with us prior to your arrival date
• We live about ½ mile down a rocky, dirt road. Most vehicles have no problem if it's taken slowly although high clearance vehicles are ideal. After rain or snow events, the road can get muddy and slippery, though we have never been stuck with either of our 2WD vehicles. Please do not drive over 15 MPH on our road, as it is not county maintained and takes our community an immense amount of effort to keep it drivable.
• This tiny house contains a composting toilet in lieu of a regular flush toilet. We provide directions, but if you are not comfortable with the idea then this tiny house is not for you.We are located along scenic the scenic Turquoise Trail, and a very quick 7 minute drive into the historic mining town of Madrid, which has numerous opportunities for dining, shopping, and other attractions. 10 minutes further North along the Turquoise Trail you will find the town of Los Cerrillos, home to Cerrillos Hills State Park famous for easy viewing of the annual tarantula migration. To the South you will find Cedar Crest and the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, which hosts many hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and seasonal creeks and snow play sites. We keep literature on local attractions and activities in the tiny house for easy reference.
Our off-grid tiny house has all the comforts of home including an RV Queen sized bed, comfortable couch and dedicated desk area. The kitchen sports ample storage, fridge and freezer, 2-burner stove, sink with hot and cold running water, and cooking essentials including oils and spices, pots and pans, wine glasses, etc. In the bathroom, there is a 32" x 32" walk-in shower and a composting toilet. A propane heater will take the chill off on cool desert mornings. We do not have air conditioning, though you will find that rarely is it warmer than 65 degrees at night, even in summer months.
We do have high-speed internet via Starlink, so streaming and video calls are possible.
The tiny house is visible from Camino Cerro Chato, though traffic is not heavy and is quite sparse at night.
