High Country Alpaca Ranch is located at the intersection of NM Hwy 36 and NM Hwy 117.It is nestled in 24 acres of Pińon Pine and Juniper trees at an elevation of 7560’. Very near to the Continental Divide, this land was once inhabited by ancient Pueblo Indians.
A full time alpaca livestock operation, we also offer camping, a completely stocked short term rental house, and a mercantile [gift shop] with light snacks [chips, candy, etc.], drinks, and bottled water. On-site activities include hiking, star gazing, relaxing, and animal husbandry.
There are many area attractions to explore that include Quemado Lake, El Malpais Wilderness, Mount Taylor, El Morro National Monument, Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary, Ice Caves & Bandero Volcano, Pueblo of Acoma/Sky City, Zuni Pueblo, and Very Large Array.
