Groundation Farms is located on 4.5 acres in the rural community of Ojo Sarco, New Mexico at an elevation of just over 7,000 feet. The farm/homestead borders state forest and is a great starting point for multiple outdoor adventures including: hiking, trail running, biking, and rafting. Kitchen facilities, domestic water, electricity, and internet are available on site.The campsites are nestled in a large pasture with gorgeous views of Truchas Peak (the 2nd largest mountain in New Mexico). Adjacent to the campsites are over an acre of native willows with a pathway leading to state forest land. The site facilities and parking are just a short walk from the campsites.

Truchas View

Quiet and fun

I had a great time car camping on John's land. I did not give them much of a heads up but when I arrived John was there to help me find the site. There is no cell service so I had downloaded a map in advance. You will need to message him an ETA since the coordinates don't take you exactly to his site. He has WiFi to use on site and a water pump next to the gate. John and his family were super welcoming. They have a sweet guard puppy that barks but won't jump on you. The toilet is a pit toilet outdoors with plenty of privacy. My favorite part of the experience was learning about the plans for the farm and the ecology of the area from John's family.
