This area was once a small community called Gobernador. When oil companies were givenn the go to put in facilities they needed a location localized so their workers did not have to drive 40 miles to an from the nearest town. They put in a school, general store, auto repair garage, an gas pumps to accomodate the workers. The Carson Forest had a dispatch station 1/2 mile east to maintain the forest needs.
After all the equipment was installed on selected sites the community began to dwindle. The nearby ranches children grew up an left, the children of the oil field crews either grew up an moved away or the family left the area. So slowly the community became a ghost town an it still hasnt recovered.
A short history as far as i am aware.
