Bring your telescope and binoculars. Excellent hiking at Ghost Ranch and other areas. Kayaking at Chama River which is 20 minutes away. Also at Abiquiu Lake.Breathtaking Mountainside for viewing stars and the heavens and the expansive valley with a view... The ancient, mystical monoliths …a feeling of eternal Bliss, quiet, and peacefulness. Bring your CAMERA, EASEL, TELESCOPE, & HIKING BOOTS. (Adults only) 16" LightBridge Telescope may be available for an extra tour. Places to see… GHOST RANCH Abiquiu Inn Restaurant Georgia O'Keeffe Center Santa Fe Lake Abiquiu Bode’s General Store Ojo Caliente (Baths) Echo theater This heavenly remote and very private place is off the grid to give you a feeling of naturalness and health that you seldom experience. There is no running water. Bring your own....especially drinking water. There is no electricity. however, lighting may be battery-powered or solar. The weather may become hot during the day so it is good to plan activities at this time. No pets, please. You are responsible for the essence of nature. restrooms are provided but they are primitive. Shower possibilities exist. however, we recommend you go to Ojo Caliente, one of the country's finest Hot springs resorts which is about 25 minutes away. Please bring your own sleeping bags, blankets, linens and pillows, and towels. This place is very secure and very private. There are two gates to proceed through to arrive. It is a special place to escape exposure to Covid, pollution, noise, and people. If you enjoy and expect the amenities of City Life you will not enjoy this. Cell phones usually DO work at this location. the telescope tour might be available at extra set up and charge. The 16" LightBridge is the largest LightBridge model. Its incredible light grasp offers four times the image brightness as an 8" telescope used at the same magnification and 75% more than a 12" model. This is one BIG scope. See deep sky objects in spectacular glory, especially when used from a dark location. Guest access You must arrive in the daytime between 1 and 6:00 p.m. Do not use GPS. it will mislead you. cell phone reception is sketchy. However, there is usually full cell phone reception at the trailer. use the directions provided. The trailer and the entire area around is yours. I may pass through to make sure everything is all right. Other things to note No ATVs or motorized vehicles. We are here for health. No drugs. No smoking. We are here for health! Bring your hiking shoes. sleeping bags, and cameras for some of the best photography you will ever find. Bring your own water. Full stove is available for cooking. Bring your food and utensils. there is no refrigeration since we are off the grid. please use the ice cooler. you may buy ice at the bar next to Mamacita's restaurant or Bodies general store. The best showers and baths are available at Ojo Caliente an excellent restaurant... about 30 minutes away...the ultimate in Hot springs and soaking. However, a small outdoor shower is available or the shower inside the bathroom is also available using a special hose. PHOTOGRAPHY is at the utmost with sunrise and sunsets, Moonscapes are rarely found with views of the planets following the ecliptic from one horizon almost to the other when visible. Sunlight and Colors paint the panorama in all shades, hues, and angles. Sometimes with Rainbows. THE Artist. For easels... you will be transfixed and transformed by the breathtaking scenery... he cannot be described without being there. The nights are beautiful and usually perfect in the summertime, however It can be hot in the daytime. you might enjoy other activities such as hiking, echo theater, and seeing Ghost ranch and the dinosaur museum when it is hot. Meals may also be obtained at Ghost ranch cafeteria during meal time. A Baldwin studio piano may be available for practice for extra. Please note; no alcoholic beverages, no motorized vehicles, ATVs, No rock climbing, and no guns.
