Lake View Rv or Tent
Camping Amongst Alpacas! 🦙
We were headed to Carson City for the weekend for the Bonanza KC dog show & came across Stacey’s ranch while looking for safe places to stay at. And we were in for a treat! This has to be the most fun Hipcamp site we’ve stayed at yet. Stacey’s ranch has two open fields where we were allowed to find a spot and park on, & we chose a spot close to the little store, which conveniently came with a picnic table. I specifically chose a spot away from other campers, especially since they also had dogs, & I don’t allow my dog to interact with other’s unknown dogs.
Stacey greeted me warmly upon arrival & walked me through everything as well as showed me her gorgeous herd of alpacas! I had to support her extra of course and got some cute keepsakes (an alpaca wool plush, an alpaca wool pen, & stickers) to take home.
Stacey was very accommodating with the check-in time as I had to be at the dog show for my ring time in the early afternoon! I ended up checking in around the early evening & made it just in time to hang out with the alpacas & watch the sunset. My husband came later that night & we sat & enjoyed the beautiful constellations overhead.
Sleeping in our rooftop tent was perfect for this site. The LGDs did their jobs very well at night, but if you’re not used to working dogs, their barking might disrupt your sleep.
In the morning, we scooped a cup of pellets to feed the alpacas and that was the cutest experience. I highly recommend staying on Stacey’s land! We’ll be back!

Unique and fun experience!!
We loved staying here. We weren’t 100% sure what to expect with the tent camping. We camped in the open field in our tent with our 1-year-old golden retriever. It was a unique experience to have the herd free roaming around the camp. There was a port-o-potty and solar shower available. Stacey was very accommodating. We got the breakfast baskets the following morning as we left. The muffins were great and the boiled eggs kept us full for hours. Would highly recommend this camp.

Such a great place!!
What a beautiful place to escape to! Stacey and the others working on the property were very friendly and happy to share their story. I would 10/10 recommend you make a reservation here as I will be coming back, certainly.

Canvas Tent Glamping
Tent glamping with the Alpacas
Awesome experience in a great place for sunset and sunrise colors! Stacey was very nice and communicative. The amenities were just as described. The free roaming animals are fun to feed and take pictures of, but leave you alone if you don’t want to interact with them. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay a night in this or the Tahoe area.

The views were beautiful and Stacy was helpful and responsive. We had a great stay, met some old friends, explored Lake Tahoe and this was a nice quiet place. The alpacas were fun, we enjoyed giving them carrots and taking pictures. Came back to our camper one evening to find someone parked right next to us in an open field and completely blocked our view, which we thought was inconsiderate but figured they were used to RV parks. They left early, and we were back to having our privacy, so not a big problem. The self serve store was nice, my wife picked up some alpaca-wool socks, but where to put the money was a puzzle as the lockbox was locked and no place to tuck the money into it, We hope Stacy found it in the morning!

What a great experience! Easy directions, easy entry, gorgeous scenery, and all the joy from petting the animals and feeding alpacas. We loved the experience of free roaming animals and the add-ons of fresh eggs, breakfast baskets, and walking in the cute camp store. We highly recommend everyone to experience camping here. It’s awesome to wake up, sip coffee with free roaming alpacas, donkey, chickens it’s like waking up and starting the day at a petting zoo. ❤️
