Beautiful 20 acre homestead, surrounded by the Garnet Mountains. We have beautiful small lakes where you can observe wild life and migratory water fowl and beautiful song birds and go on small walks around the lakes or take your mountain bike or e-bike and enjoy a ride on the ranch roads surrounding the area. Come on over to our homestead and take a small tour of our greenhouse and gardens, we have seasonal produce to sell and rabbits to pet! We sell farm fresh eggs and raw goats milk and soft goat cheeses! We also have hand crafted lip balms with essential oils and we welcome you to enjoy our fire pit area and wood fired hot tub, all the while viewing the small lakes around our homestead. The Hot Tub is an extra charge of $20. We also have a luxurious outdoor hot water shower available for use as well! Reserve the hot tub at check in! Come prepared! We are in grizzly country , BE BEAR AWARE! All campers need to keep all ice chests and food away from their tents and in their cars when not using them! This is grizzly and black bear country, keep all cooking utensils , dog food and pans , in your vehicle when not in use! Very important to obey the bear rules and stay safe! Thank you and we want you to have a safe and enjoyable camp out! Please be advised to follow these directions to the campsite grounds, the google map takes you to the wrong entrance and we have had issues getting this changed. As you come into Drummond, head to Helmville road , turn right and follow this road that parallels I-90, then turn left onto highway 271 to Helmville. So follow highway 271 towards Helmville , at 13.1 miles , turn right onto Weaver hill crossing a cattle guard. Go up the hill and follow the road and keep to the left of the first Y and continue on for 3.5 miles until you come to the second large Y and stay to the right of it. Continue on for another 3.2 miles un til you see a green chimney lakes sign and turn right and continue in on to our driveway! There is no cell service up here , so you will have to connect to our Wi-Fi when you arrive, to be able to call or text out. Please use your trip counter in your car or truck to help you with mileage. Remember to save these directions before you loose cell service!😊We are at 5400 feet elevation, hence the name, Mile High Mountain Homestead! We are located on 20 beautiful acres with views of the Garnet mountains and small lakes and dirt roads to ride e-bikes and mountain bikes on. Small walks around the lakes and come on up to the homestead and chat with us and get a tour of the off grid homestead and get a personal view of how we live and pet the goats and rabbits! We sell farm fresh produce when in season and you pick berries when in season! We also sell fresh produce and homestead products, hand crafted lip balms made with essential oils, whole raw goats milk and soft goat cheeses, farm fresh eggs! We make homemade pizza to order and fresh pies to order as well! Come on by the Mile High Mountain Homestead and get the off grid experience all the while camping on our land! We love visitors!

Amazing stay on a real homestead!
My 3 old son and I had an amazing stay for three nights at Mile High Mountain Homestead. I’ll start with…. trust the directions they give you and don’t overthink it!. Second…. ABSOLUTELY BOOK THIS SITE! You will not regret it. The Hosts are literally two of the best people I’ve ever met. They met us at the site and were very warm and friendly. The tent site we stayed at was perfectly level with a great fire pit to sit around and a picnic table. Plenty of shade and tress to pitch your tent in and hang your hammock. We were directly next to the lake, and although the the water was a bit low we still had a great time throwing rocks in the water (my 3 yr old boy’s favorite activity). There was a huge pile of wood next to the site that the hosts had placed there for use, and the fire pit was already prepped and ready to light. They have an amazing outdoor kitchen/ seating area/wood fired hot tub…. It looks like it’s out of a movie it’s so well built! The hot outdoor shower there is reason enough to come back. The loo with a view is literally just that and it was kept immaculately clean. If you are at all into the idea of having a homestead I highly encourage you to check this site out because it’s a fully functioning homestead and the hosts are extremely knowledgeable. Also the offer homestead pizza which is literally one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had. I can’t say enough about how awesome the hosts are and how perfect the site is. Truly an experience of a lifetime.

Best kept secret in Montana
Dave and Becky’s place is truly a retreat unlike any place I’ve seen, but don’t take my word for it… see it for yourself!

A true slice of heaven!
The only downside is that we only had one night to spend here!! This is an absolute slice of heaven and I’m so grateful to have been able to experience it with my husband and two kids. The road up is rough but just lean in and enjoy the experience (but make sure your empty your bladder before you embark 😂) my kids loved it and called it a rollercoaster. It was bumpy but never made me nervous. Highly recommend if Rebecca is offering anything she makes- get it! Her pizza was out of this world and I left with a goodie bag of shampoo bars, jams, cheese, lip balms, and ointment- what more could you need? The outdoor bathroom was MUCH nicer than many indoor ones. I’m already plotting how we can get up there for longer next summer! Thank you Becky and Dave!!!!!!

Unfortunately we couldn’t reach the site. There’s no service in the area (which we were told about before hand), and based on written directions we ended up on what we think may have been someone else’s property. Our car was then surrounded and kicked repeatedly by about 7 horses (very friendly horses, but it was definitely startling.) We then got our car stuck on a steep hillside, which was also decently terrifying. I’m sure that the homestead is great and the surrounding area we did get to see was absolutely beautiful, but to our knowledge there was no warning in the description about just how difficult the site was to get to. You really need a pickup truck or an all terrain vehicle with four wheel drive to get here, and our minivan (which is no slouch for rough driving) definitely took an extreme beating on the roads leading into camp. We were not offered a refund, either, and had to get another hotel for the night. All things considered we were disappointed to have such a negative experience with such a well rated place. If you book a site here just make sure your vehicle can handle it, they’re not kidding when they say the homestead is remote!

Jenna and I hesitated at first. Having found ourselves in less than desirable conditions in the past, making the decision to move forward took some thought and discussion. Ultimately, we made the right choice. Our gracious hosts were a breath of fresh mountain air. Our Accommodations exceeded all expectations. We plan to return and would happily recommend this place to anyone. Michael Plentywood, MT

Worth the trek up!
Since we stayed twice, I am going to write this review and I'll have my husband write the second. We have been trying to get to the Western side of the state a little more for our boys can get a little bit of the mountains in their prairie raised souls. What Becky and Dave have going on is what Hipcamping should be. The hard work they are dedicating to their property is just absolutely remarkable. So calm, so peaceful. Plenty of shade. Beautiful views. The trek up there and back down is something to write home about. There were many times on the way up that we weren't sure if we could make it. But we did, and I'm thankful for it. Thank you Becky and Dave for sharing a little slice of your life with us, and your wonderful hospitality. If we are out this way again, we will book again! Maybe with a higher lifted trailer though! Haha
