280 acres hosted by Alline A.
Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage is a 25-year old community based on ecological sustainability and thoughtfulness; our lives are cooperative ("hey, can I borrow your ladder?") but not communal. What was one a beaten down farm with no trees is now a prairie and woodland paradise. 40 members live in dozens of "green" buildings - everything from cob to strawbale, many built by the owners. When you arrive we will give you a brief tour of the village; you might catch a glimpse of the cows, goats, chickens, ducks and pigs that some folks here keep. There are mowed trails that you may take walks on, and enjoy the birdsong and clouds. Sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous. We ask that you respect the privacy of the the people who live here, and walk only on the gravel roads (or on the mowed trails out on the 280 acres) while you are here. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. The Mercantile is owned by longtime members (23 years!) who will take good care of you!
