Nestled in the serene Ozarks Greenwood area, surrounded by towering woods and trails with a spacious field, lies a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The starry sky above twinkles with a brilliance unmatched by any urban setting, offering a breathtaking backdrop to the tranquil handbuilt country store across the field on the hilltop where the "Western Territory of the Ozarks" Marker is located. There you can visit our store with a separate private heated bathroom for your convenience. You are now 3 miles from the closest town.
Tucked away in this tranquil oasis is a cozy campsite just for you! A fire ring perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars. As night falls, the chorus of frogs croaking in the distance fills the air, accompanied by the calls of a mated pair of barred owls which lives in our woods. Here, you may catch a glimpse of deer gracefully roaming through the wispy air, or simply sit back and marvel at the beauty of the natural world surrounding you.
Just a stone's throw away is George Washington Carver National Park, this idyllic retreat is a nature lover's paradise! Museum, films, activities, trails, even an old farm house next to a spring fed pond and stream. Lot's of history all free admission and worth going just 5 miles away. We are centrally located in the United States and just 30 to 60 miles in any direction offers lakes, attractions and even an hour and a half away is Branson!
We are situated just off of state highway E, it provides easy access to all the wonders of the great outdoors, making it the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful getaway in the heart of nature.Site 1 is situated at the south end of our field in an inlet 80% surrounded by trees and woods. The other 20% looking north with a beautiful view of the stars. Private Bathroom, (heated in winter) is about a 3 minute walk to our store area on a well kept wide mowed path along the edge of the field. Our Store, "Greenwood Country Store" is open to the public from 10am to 7pm Thursday thru Saturday with fresh ground and brewed coffee or Cold Brew Coffee or tea, bottled water and snacks. Also we have basic hygene items along with handmade clothing and crystals and other special items. We can open to our guests after hours when requested. Picnic table is located at the store. Laundromat is 3 1/2 miles away in Diamond Mo. We have well kept trails that go back into our ozark woods and will have a map if you like. The site has a fire ring and very primative. No hook ups. Basically a tent site. Could pull in a small RV or trailer. This is the Ozarks, you will hear Owls, deer, ect. Usually nightime gets pretty quiet. After hours access is a direct gate to Hwy E and close to the campsite.
