Primitive Camping Van/vehicle Camping Small Trailers Glamping Bike Trails, Hiking, creek sit-in' on site! Best of the midwest biking, hiking, Ozark Trail, rock climbing Elephant Rocks Park, Johnson Shut-ins and more swimming holes nearby! Wood for sale on site, $5 per bundle, Fire starters also available. Ask us about our "Really Good At Camping" merchandise. We have shirts, mugs & wine tumblers! *Cash Only* at this time. We Have free stickers! *For camp site locations please refer to our map in the campsite listing photos. We are located just west of the Ironton Water Works Plant and the Shepherd Mountain Lake dam. Turn right after the dam, drive through Shepherd Mountain Lake Park. If our "campground guests only" gate if it is closed, and please close gate behind you. Thank you! No Hook Ups No swimming in the lake and no outside boats, but we have boats for campers to use free of charge! General Store and restroom facilities/showers coming soon!

We loved this site! I highly recommend camping here. I really liked being under the trees rather than an open field. Site was clean and our kids loved the hot tub and playground area.

Superbloom

Loved every second of it

Great times at the Superbloom. Super quiet and refreshing times in the middle of the woods. Loved every second of it. Great location, 25min from the Johnson’s Shut-ins. Clean compost restroom close to the camp. Thanks for everything, will stay there again anytime we comeback to the area.

First Place

Beautiful but poorly executed

First Place is very beautiful & well designed. Public amenities were disappointing & dangerous. Very aggressive wasps nesting in several buildings like bathrooms, unaddressed. Bathrooms dirty & lights don't work, no windows. Ppl don't know how to use compost toilets & it's problematic (we do bc we've had compost toilets at home for years, but most don't read the sign & expose everyone else to odor & germs). Bathrooms & showers are child sized & adults may not be able to squeeze into very narrow spaces (shower door <16" wide). Roads & paths are very well planned and maintained. Camp store was open half the posted times. Water & firewood was abundant & easy to access. Very beautiful space, very whimsical & very good ideas, lovely people... just poorly executed, unfortunately 😔

AVO is a lovely campsite! The hosts were kind, the campsites are well-maintained, and the property is beautiful! Will definitely keep on the list for a return visit.
